  1. A great favorite , tho' I have it on Columbia CDs. Yep, I had the double LP, CBS italian pressing, since I was fifteen, I sold it when I got the Mosaic. Got a 6-eye double but it has been superceded by Mosaic. The 'edits' on the original suck. First up today - Cedar Walton 'Spectrum' (Prestige blue label, stereo)
  2. Nice to see the Gil Melle exhibit ! Looks like those so-called "Warhols" are a speculative bubble ready to burst.
  3. I'm using a 42" Panasonic Viera plasma and have been very happy with it.
  4. Never heard anything but an excellent gig from him - and I've seen a few over the years (I think the first Cedar gig I saw must have been 19789/80, with the 'Eastern Rebellion' group with Bob Berg). A nice, down-to-earth and approachable guy too ! That was the first time I saw him live, too - Sam Jones on bass! Great band! He signed the band's LP for me that evening. Do a search on My Jazz World Thanks ! Sadly, Sam Jones had passed away not long before I saw 'Eastern Rebellion' for the first time and it was the excellent David Williams on bass.

A nice, down-to-earth and approachable guy too ! Sorry Mike - have never heard the 'Mobius' other than a bit of it on the radio. Would like to check it out again.
  6. Sonny Simmons 'Rumasuma' (Contemporary white label, stereo)
  7. Probably a reasonable chance that they will be back. This is at least the second batch of cheap 'Last Waltz's'.
  8. Yep, used to tune in to that quite a bit. Fabulous hour or so on Saturday mornings (I think that's when it was). Used to like the way he would feature recordings when they had their 30th year anniversaries.
  9. Hank Mobley Sonny Greenwich Eddie Diehl
  10. Joe Sample 'Ashes To Ashes' (Warner)
  11. Reggie Kray Ronnie Kray The Boys From Brazil
  12. At least Hank Jones and McCoy are there but Leonard Cohen and Katie Melua as jazz is pushing 'trades description' a bit !!
  13. I use those Japanese Nagaoka ones when I can get them. Cost an arm and a leg but they are good. Don't know what I did to the phono stage last night but it is really singing. Miles is jumping out the speakers. Iffy DIN connection perhaps?
  14. Larry Young Charles Earland Mrs Mills
  15. OK Ah Theakston's Old Peculier - my favourite ! Jamie Theakston Amy Whitehouse Mary Whitehouse
