  1. All excellent. A bit of an earlier vintage with a cut-down band size-wise, but the signature Boland sound is there.
  2. Got the 'Griif 'n' Bags' 2LP set in front of me. Looks as if there are 5 tracks from "Lady Heaven Bottom's Waltz" (great title ) 'Foot Patting' 'Please Send Me Someone To Love' 'Deep Eight' 'The JAMFS Are Coming' 'Lady Heavy Bottom's Waltz' Not sure if that means the full album is on there - but certainly much of it. Yes, looks like all of the 'Swing Waltz Swing' was on the 'All That Strauss' compilation. Nice to see the original cover though and I'll bet the 180g vinyl will sound great. This apparently came out on LP for sale with the German 'teen' magazine 'twen' to mark their 50th issue. Imagine that sort of thing now - more likely an MP3 by Cheeky Girls or other such crap. There's some overlap I think with the Shihab 'Seeds' and 'All Those Cats' but don't have 'Seeds' so can't confirm.

  5. Didn't the Peasants' Revolt start from there too? I guess we can all look forward to another 'Winter of Discontent' this year..
  6. Sad news, RIP. I'll dig the 'Jazz Wave' LP set out today.

  8. Recording level was often a bit low though, relative to noise. Just playing one of those Argos and although the sound was exquisite, it could have done with being boosted up a bit. A '60s thing, I guess.
  9. Just playing a WB UK George Benson recently. Vinyl pretty thin but sound very good indeed !

  15. Certainly would think long and hard before making any trips to Northern England these days, except for work. Fortunately, living in the West Country, a traditional holiday area, means there's less of a need to get out of the place on vacation. We just get innundated with swarms of caravans from London and other cities in the Summer though.

  20. 'I Only Have Eyes For You' is a late 1980s offering with the Brass Fantasy. Not bad at all - certainly worth checking out (but admittedly not an all-time classic though). Bought this one around the time of 'Avant Pop', also on ECM.
