  1. Happy birthday Rodney. May the 'toot' be with you !
  2. Good idea. Sounds like a good plan for later on.
  3. Lots of 'sightings' information just released over here into the public domain. MoD UFO Reports Looks like entertaining reading. Roswell eat your heart out !
  4. Great news. I'm sure most of the early ones I bought in the mid-90s period were $20 or over plus sales tax, and they were often at least £15 in the UK so this is one item (unlike fuel, food, property, government taxation) that has dropped nicely in real monetary terms. Looking forward to checking out the latest titles.
  5. And to think that some of those Borders I checked out during US trips were quite a good source of Conns and the Verve Elite Editions (sigh..)
  6. The 'Secret Sessions' and the Dolphy arrived in the mail today. Once again, great performance from Newbury. From what I've heard of the 'Secret Sessions' so far (CD1) the sound quality is quite acceptable and the music is really excellent. This is prime Bill Evans !
  7. Tim Garland Chick Corea Mr Thetan

  12. Can't believe that the 'Thad & Mel' Mosaic is still there ! Someone should pounce.
  13. Joe Harriott/John Mayer 'Indo-Jazz Fusions' (UK Columbia Lansdowne Series, mono)
  14. Mr T Stanley Turrentine Tommy Turrentine
  15. Leonard Cheshire Sarah Lancashire Sarah Vaughan Michael Vaughan "Sir" Geoffrey Boycott Freddie Trueman
  16. Truly sorry to hear this too - my deepest sympathies.
  17. The Freesat HD receivers by Humax are in the shops today. I had my hands on one but the store would only sell if you got their satellite dish installation package with it. I can't believe it needs a bespoke sat dish and LNB to operate instead of reussing my old teutonic reception bucket and cranking it 10 degrees East. So didn't bother with them.
  18. Saw this thread and feared bad news but sounds like great progress is being made. CT is a true survivor - best wishes for speedy recovery for him. It's amazing what can be done with hearts surgically these days.

    Steve Winwood

Last time I saw the Good Doctor live, was hanging out in front of the B-3 and Winwood was stood right next groovin' to it.
  20. Yep, it's a good deal. Funny how they dropped about 50% in price since I bought though. On a real positive note, the UK has just launched 'Freesat' this week which will have all of the Freeview channels plus HD for BBC and the terrestrial channels when they launch their HD outlets. For the price of a receiver and in my case cranking the satellite dish round from the current analogue Astra (goodbye German arts shows and teutonic soft-porn) to 28.2E I should get me HD TV for "free" (well - it comes out of licence feee).
  21. No complaints from me either on the sound for the UK and US issues (often the UK issues had US sleeves anyway). The ones I have more of a problem with are the French 'Carerre', which can be spotty. Remember when that first series of RCA/Prestiges twofers came out - it was like Alladin's Cave ! Right in the middle of the first oil crisis too (the thickness of vinyl dropped significantly during the period so you sometimes find the first titles in the series with nice heavy slabs of vinyl and the later twofers from 77-78 with frisbees).
