  1. There's a load of information on this from Roger F. posted on AAJ I think.
  2. Two words re: the Mosaic - Malcolm Addey. 'Nuff said.
  3. Have a great birthday, Erik ! :rsmile:

Yeh, I read somewhere I think that it was a session set up by Leonard Feather but I can't recall where !
  5. I think the Music Matters list (which includes 'Soul Station' and other great delectibles like 'Basra') then dictated the scope of titles that AP can put out as 2x45LP sets.
  6. Lyle Murphy/Andre Previn 'Gone With The Woodwinds' (Vogue/Contemporary DG mono)

Recorded July 1954 in London - I've a feeling it might have been recorded by Carlo Kramer's Esquire operation.
  8. Hank Mobley 'Soul Station' (BN 47W63rd DG mono)
  9. Okay, okay...so there are a few minor QC bumps in the road. At least no one has complained about the labels being wrinkled and off center! Fraid not . Wasn't there something on the Hoffman forums about somebody getting an off-centre AP vinyl?
  10. John Taylor 'Pause And Think Again' (Turtle Records, stereo) - great session from the early 70s !
  11. Good point. Worth thinking about then !
  12. Ah - I'd assumed that it had. Maybe I'll pass then.
  13. Thanks for that. I need an extra set of shelves for 'deep storage' of stuff, this looks as if it will do the job. Looks like Ikea have a 21% off sale in the UK this Saturday so I'll call by. The UK site also mixes up the dimensions.
  14. Have a Royally great birthday !
  15. No suprise there to see the border collie at #1 The English bulldog is predictably thick.
  16. Thanks ! I'll dig my 2LP set out of this one.
  17. Yep, I've seen it. Most definitely worth checking out. I'm not a particular fan of Ayler but the power ofd his music and commitment comes through loud and clear. A well made documentary, sympathetically done.
  18. A James Moddy Cadet/Argo box would be high up on my list. I like that idea of the Burns/English Vanguard Select. How about more Vanguard material - those brilliant Vic Dickenson/Jo Jones jam sessions for example?
  19. How is the sound on this? Is this the material that came out on the RCA 'Very Alive At Ronnie Scotts' 2LP set?
  20. John Surman 'Westering Home' (Island HELP, stereo). A bit of "local" music.
  21. Ah DJM twofers ! I have some DJM single LPs somewhere, el cheapo colapso - 1975/76? Dobells £2.99 it sounds about right. Aren't they (DJM) the guys who did the Stanley Turrentine LP with Laurel & Hardy cover art?
  22. Yep, that's a really good one. Especially with Thad Jones in the front line. Definite Liberty 'end of an era' vibe to the session though - sort of sad.
