  1. No mention of John Taylor yet?
  2. Alice Beer Nick Ross Fiona Bruce
  3. I think we've got off lightly though. Those pictures of Tewkesbury are a shocker. And water supplies now under threat both there, Gloucester, Worcester and Cheltenham. Something of a national emergency bubbling under with all this rescue and recovery work. Looks like the Thames Valley will be hit again during the week too. Maidenhead, look out.. And I don't even want to think of what it will do to the insurance premiums next year.
  4. Sacha Baron Cohen Borat Ali G

  11. That's too much excitement for a Sunday morning. I was thinking this might be some long-lost previously unknown Big John material but I guess it is Charley Patton, right?
  12. Interesting - but looks like the item isn't actually in stock at Deep Discount.
  13. Just noticed from Mosaic's brochure writeup that there are sessions by some real obscure pianists on here. Stan Freeman, Max Miller, Buddy Weed and Bill Clifton. All of these guys are a total unknown to me. Looks like a fascinating set. I'm there, I think..
  14. Ever though of applying for a sales position at Mosaic evan?
  15. It's already up on dime ! (Thanks)

  17. Fry the shallots in butter with fresh garlic and black pepper, add the white wine and reduce. Then add the seafood with lemon or lime plus heaps of fresh parsley. Cover the whole lot with a plate and steam for a few minutes. Works well in a wok !
  18. g_d not only do you have great taste in music, but in food taboot! damn. It was fantastic. And the price was unbelievable - £3.50 reduced from normal price £16 each for a large lobster ! Can't believe that no-one else spotted it. No 'out of date' issues either - it tasted immaculate. Stores of the Waitrose chain over here operate a fantastic fresh seafood counter. Sea bass, monkfish, swordfish, oysters, lobsters, crabs, dover sole etc - it's all there. And always immaculately fresh. Usually when I visit the lobsters are sold out. I probably lucked out because, being on holiday off work last week I was able to stock up on the good stuff early in the day before the rich housewives and retirees bought it all. Never again in the history of seafood will I get a deal like that one.. The next night it was fresh mussels, again steamed in white wine.
  19. Hey, I'm now right behind you guys looking over the precipice ! Cross-hairs are on this one. Trigger finger primed. :rsmile:
  20. I remember seeing it. I think it was for this one they wheeled the TV out at school so we could all watch it in the assembly hall.
  21. Just been watching Griff in action on that Clarke/Boland Big Band in Prague DVD. A commanding force in that band (what a sax lineup - to die for) and very much at his peak in Oct 1967.
  22. What's the sound quality of the set like, Evan? I've got my eyes on this one. :rsmile:
  23. Just saw the pictures of Barry on the TV news. Pretty bad there. Travel chaos nationwide by all accounts. Some of the rail lines out of London are under water !
  24. London seems to be going underwater ! The West has got off fairly light I think..
