I presume it's not legal shoting from the window at Brooklyn, so my suggestion is to send an anonimous letter to FBI accusing him of being a muslim terrorist, disguised as mocking bird, that uses his sing for calling all muslims of your neighbourhood at jiiad.

Was this experiment conducted in Britain? I was wondering about the teeth. Guy I was thinking more along the lines of the waiting room of a cosmetic dentist. You guys are a bit racist about teeth. BTW Is it a fake smile?

Exactly, I am so tired that I have to pay someone else to write all my posts on the forum, including this one, meantime I am sleeping. BTW PM me if the cultural level of my posts is too low, I'll fire him...when I'll wake up...

C'mon Brownie, because of Henry Langlois almost every movie is considered a masterpiece in France. At least we take our cinema seriously over here. And Langlois was one of the reasons for this! I must admit that I never belonged to any organization, never. But I was once a card-carrying dues-paying member of the Amis de Henri Langlois reunion that was founded back in 1968 when then Ministre de la Culture André Malraux tried to dismiss Langlois as director of the Cinémathèque Française. The riots that followed the dismissal preceded by a few weeks the May 1968 students confrontations. Brownie, Brownie, you're a bad boy: Zéro de conduite! -
You're not, and you are: The added track on that twofer was a sax/bass duo take of "Till There Was You" - that twofer was the Italian edition of the Milestone twofer M-47007 - and latter added to the OJCCD-067-2 reissue of "The Freedom Suite". The bass/drums duo of "There Will Never Be another You" so far only appeared on OJCCD-304-2, which is the CD reissue of Max Roach's "Deeds Not Words". Thanks Mike, I feel a bit younger now.

BTW, at the moment the national tv is broadcasting Gunman in the Streets, sadly I lost the beginning. edit: I just remember that my first History of Cinema Course at University, was about film noir, but godamn if I remember something else a part the fact i attended at the course and watched at all these movies. I'll probably have half a dozen books about film noirs in my shelves...ageing isn't funny. -
I am talking about vinyl. I had a Riverside Twoofer, an italian pressing from a series called "Jazz è bello" (Jazz is beautiful), lots of great Riverside and Prestige sessions coupled togheter at a single price, not the best audiophile stuff, but a very effective and cheapway to get Monk, Dolphy, Davis, Evans, Rollins, ecc. Later I found a mint Japan Victor vinyl at my local store for 10 $ or so. I am probably wrong but the duo track you named was on the italian twoofer. Sadly I lost it in one of my move, or I borrowed it to some "friend".

It might be, but they lost the Football WC in 1966.

Very correct analysis. Maybe it would be interesting to look for "noir" in other movies' genres, like "Johnny Guitar", a great "noir" with some horses. -
Frankly, I don't know, I am happy with my japanese pressing. Never heard something else.

I decided in the end to go for the Clearaudio smart matrix RCM. It was available locally and is well made and apparently quieter than most. I believe that it has a lot in common with the Okki Nokki machine but has a number of trimmings added to make it quieter, heat/overfill cut out sensor, lid, etc. Have only cleaned 20 or so LPs so far. I had no idea so many of my apparently clean Lps were in fact so dirty. Lots of pops and crackles have disappeared and some LPs sound "smoother" than before. I'm using the provided Clearaudio fluid and also a 1:3 ratio of isopropyl alcohol to distilled water + few drops of wetting agent. Results seem the same for either solution. I've yet to notice improvements in dynamic range but happy not to hear a lot of low grade crackle. Still not entirely clear what fluid I should use. Why do some say avoid alcohol solutions. My dealer specifically recommended it over more expensive stuff he could easily of tried to flog me ? Never used alcohol solutions, not that I have some explanations based on chemistry or physic for avoiding them. I use Disc Doctor Miracle Record Cleaning with distilled water for rinsing. And I used Disc Doctor brushes, far better then VPI build in brushes. I tried GoldZyme too, but, in my brief experience, if Disc Doctor fluids can't remove the pops and clicks, no other stuff can't. Disc Doctor fluids is not expensive if you buy it concentrate, and distilled water...well, actually I don't know if I use more distilled water for ironing my shirts or for cleaning my Blue Note...so I wouldn't be able to made an exact estimation.

Riverside was founded by Bill Grauer and Orin Keepnews. Problem with sound reproduction of many original sessions from the label was the mastering. Recording quality ranged from good to excellent. From what I understand, things went wrong with the mastering process. Even the usually excellent Japanese vinyl reissue pressings from the 70s presented the same deficiencies. Christern would be the one to know about those problems. He produced a number of sessions for Riverside. ...if only he weren't so busy to solve the problems of Middle East...

Not unlucky but just like the rest of us vinyl lovers. Most Riverside recordings were just not up to par. This has been discussed on numerous occasions in various threads before. That implies Keepnews was a cheapskate on pressings - and still managed to go bust! What an effin' genius! MG I don't know well enough Keepnews' story, was he the owner or the Riverside or just an employed producer? Because AFIK a producer has to struggle for the budget of every project with the guys with the money and the big cigar. So maybe we was cheapskate on pressing because he spend the bigger money in recording sessions and artist's contracts. Just guessing. edit: just noted that the above Cannonball's record was produced by Bill Grauer. Now I am listening to THE CANNONBALL QUINTET - In San Francisco - Riverside stereo black label, Grauer is the producer of this too, and it's pretty good pressing on a good quality vinyl.
