  11. For me, Mal was versatile. He’s was good backing others or as a leader. I enjoy Mal in live settings. On my Facebook group I have a private recording of him leading his group at the Vanguard. The band swings the whole set. https://m.facebook.com/groups/327260927975997/?tsid=0.11444042330453097&source=result

  19. Actor Ray Liotta has died. He was 67. RIP.
  20. Best known for the drummer in Yes, Allen White has died.
  21. It’s going to be on time this one. Usually Mosaic doesn’t charge my credit card unless somethings going to be shipped soon. If The release date is out into the future, they usually don’t take payment. The last set, Lenny Tristano, I ordered that one was first available to order, but not anywhere near the shipping date, I wasn’t billed until 15 days or so prior to the release date. My credit card was charged $169 yesterday for this new one. I placed the order a few weeks ago.
  22. Another one that hits me emotionally, Billy Stayhorn's Lush Life.
  23. Con Alma = With Soul. The title is so apropos for the mood it gives off, regardless to who is playing it. This tune bring me into a state where I am almost in tears, but not a sad sense. So beautiful. In my opinion, it is Dizzy's best composition. I was just listening to a live Mike Longo recording from 2012, "celebrating Dizzy and Miles." He plays this on the CD "with soul." Any others?
