  1. I was just spinning the Frank Wess Moodsville from 1960. I have a few others. Does anyone know how many were in this series from Prestige?
  2. I wish I was old enough to have been at most of these sets. The only ones I’m not familiar with are Caio Scott and Louis Wars. Anyone know more about these two?
  3. A second video. It's all explained in the below link. https://www.jazzwax.com/2021/05/interview-bill-evans-the-dancer.html
  4. I never knew about this before
  5. Would Marilyn Maye be accepted as a jazz artist or more if a cabaret performer? Marilyn is 94 or 95.
  6. It's not photoshopped. At first I thought it was, but there are a number of these posted online. A space saver, but not practical in seriously play. Anyone ever seen one of these in person?
  7. RIP Mtume.
  8. The blues is called "Deuces Wild." I have it on a few CDs/
  9. yes. Thank you.
  10. That won’t work for a private recording.
  11. Back in 2010 I was given a cassette of a Sonny Stitt performance. In the 12 years since, I have not been able to identify the titles of these two numbers. I've asked a number of people, but the answers I got were not correct. Anyone here know the title of these two? https://mega.nz/folder/rgtwBJjC#lo-IfkCJU4jWDvIwZz2_2w
  12. Thanks for clearing that up. But I do see her name as one of the composers for “what are you doing the rest of your life.” It must be a mistake on the lp. I know Michel Legrand and Allen Bergman are the composers. Maybe she had something to do with the writing of that tune as well.
  13. Composer Marilyn Bergman has passed away at the age of 93. Probably her best known composition was, “what are you doing the rest of your life?”
  14. Mods, can you move this to the artist forum?
  15. He was a great actor. 94 is a good life. RIP.
  16. I am sure it was posted here a good 10 years ago. I’ll try to find it.
  17. Both Sonny Rollins and Wayne Shorter were paid 40k to perform at the Chicago Jazz festival; separate shows of course. I think the year was 2008. Somewhere I saw the contracts posted on a site for both of these concerts. Each then probably had to pay their band out of that 40k, or would those musicians be paid from the event organizers under different contact?
  18. Tony Bennett. We can't forget him.
  19. Clifton Anderson has over 450 sound board recordings of his uncle Sonny Rollins. These are the source of the Road Show series. Hopefully none get discarded.
  20. Jimmy Carter Billy Carter Roselynn Carter
  21. A good long life. She was about two weeks shy of 100. RIP.
  22. Here's to a healthy 2022 to everyone.
  23. I know they met early but Golson swore to Vincent Herring that’s how they met.
