  1. Yep, agreed. My copies of Think, Detroit/NY Junction, Cliff Jordan and a few others are ugly as all get-out. But they sound sweet, and I couldn't by 'em as domestic product. Having said that, I plan to replace my True Blue when the RVG is available...
  2. I manage a used book/record/cd shop and spend loads of time selling stuff on eBay/Amazon. Not the world's highest paying job, but not soul-destroying either. In my spare time, I write and draw comic books. Which will hopefully one day be the day job...
  3. I'm feeling cube-like as well.
  4. I'm pretty sure it'd be bad form to ask Mosaic if they'd sell me a box and booklet to go with my eBay discs. So I'm just gonna have to take your word for it...
  5. Boy, that was a damn good price.
  6. Ringo's busy shooting the Arafat biopic.
  7. Answering my own question: Indeed, Sextet, Vol 3, Cooker and City Lights, Candy... yep. They're all done!
  8. (Psssst: Go for the new TOCJ24s of Morgan's first Blue Note albums. At ¥1500, you can't go wrong!) You really can't, can you... have they done all six yet?
  9. At least it's not in some sissy dome.
  10. Weren't Altlanta #1 rushing in the NFL this season? The Eagles shut that down pretty handily.
  11. Speaking of BN reissues, slightly off-topic: Where are the RVGs of the first 6 Lee Morgans? I'm sure Candy still moves okay in its present form, but the rest are Mosaic and Japan only, right? And RVG has remastered them all for the Japanese market, hasn't he? Is somebody thinkin' the kids don't dig Mogie?
  12. You know, even if they are insane, they're 9 & 10 years old. Intervention? Hell yes. Felony charges? Somebody needs a perspective check.
  13. Washington's Natural Essence is way overdue for US release as well.
  14. Landslide needs to show up filling out an RVG'd Clubhouse.
  15. 1989 or 90? I was working at Kinko's, next door to a record shop. The shop's manager handed me the Chet Baker/Russ Freeman PJ Studio set and asked for, I think, $25 bucks. I didn't know what the hell Mosaic was, was still a long-hair rock band guy, but had a soft spot for Chesney. I dug the set and eventually moved it on in favor of the later PJ reisuues. It'd be 2001/2 before I started actively buying Mosaics direct from the source (and off of eBay). Not sure what I was thinking. I missed loads of great stuff!
  16. PM'd Re: Smokestack & Asia Minor.
  17. That being these sessions?(Too many "at the Organ"s. 18. Andy Reid said yes post-game. Go Eagles!
  19. If you refer to Blue Note LPs 1512, 1514 and 1525 all titled "A new sound, a new star, Jimmy Smith at the organ: These were on a double CD in 1997 in the Doubletime series: Nope, I've got that one too (thanks Erik!). JS at the Organ with Blakey, Burrell and Donaldson was part of the Smith Feb '57 Mosaic, but otherwise has only been out on disc in Japan.
  20. That's awesome. Man, I wish the Packers were playing today...
  21. If the Pats got rid of the Bush-suck-up QB, I wouldn't hate them. Last year's SB win was okay, since Larry Centers got a ring out of it. But if the Pats get through the Steelers, I hope TO and McNabb get a chance to destroy them. Edit: Man that sounds humorless upon re-reading. I honestly don't care who wins this one. I just grow weary of the Pats. And the campaign appearances. Rothlisburger's "play for Jesus" thing bugs me too. Battle on, kids! But what do I know? I'm a Redskins fan. aka "chump".
  22. This'll have to do:
  23. I can't for the life of me Google up a pic of Floyd Turbo. Man, I wanted to post one
  24. A Date with Jimmy Smith Vols 1&2 and Jimmy Smith at the Organ Vols 1&2 would both make fine single-disc Conns.
  25. ©Penny Parker Now that's special.
