  1. October 11th for the first batch, of course. Ah, 300 posts.
  2. October 25th. There was a 13 week delay on the Feb/March batches...
  3. Ordered from Hiroshi, around $17 ppd. The 6000 series, that is...
  4. Y'know, I buy nearly every US RVG just because I dig the extra photos and the Blumenthal essay. And my Leo's an LP burn that I'm itchin' to replace with the RVG. But man, Reach Out? Before Dippin'? Before Caddy for Daddy? Before Workout/Another Workout? WTF?!?!?!? Of course I'd love to see Rollin' with Leo RVG'd too. I hope you're wrong about this killing it...
  5. Well that's obviously not half of the batch. No "Basra"-like titles... wonder what gives? Donald Byrd - Fuego Don Cherry - Symphony For Improvisers Bobby Hutcherson - Oblique Freddie Redd - Music From The Connection Art Blakey - The Big Beat Grant Green - Sunday Morning Herbie Hancock - Inventions and Dimensions McCoy Tyner - Time For Tyner Blue Mitchell - Boss Horn Andrew Hill - Judgement Lonnie Smith - Think! Jimmy Smith - Jimmy Smith at the Organ, Vol. 3
  6. Reading Schoolhose Rocks liners and learned that's Jack Sheldon singing those two. I had know idea.
  7. Kevin- As always, you are the King of Useful Information. Thanks! Any more short list info?
  8. If anybody finds copies of Freddie Roach's "Down to Earth" or Leo Parker's "Let Me Tell You 'Bout It", in Ginza or elsewhere, I'm hankering them. Please give a holler. Thanks! Edited in an attempt to sound polite.
  9. I had it, unloaded it, want it back. Looks like I missed a $3.78 copy on eBay a couple weeks back. Snap! Anybody got a line on a reasonably priced copy? I'm finding $22-$35 at Amazon/eBay. I don't want it that bad...
  10. True Blue is the TOCJ, Little Johnny C the Conn, Like Someone in Love is the only early McMaster I've found among the Spanish BNs. But I don't have 'em all...
  11. I a/b'd them once and the TOCJ kicked crap out of the domestic.
  12. I want to frequent your library. Where do YOU live?
  13. I suspect they're gettin' a little get-back since I scored one of those under-$20 Jazztet Mosaics from them last year. I think I can live with waiting. B-)
  14. I ordered a month ago! This was no stealth order.
  15. I pre-ordered at CD Universe but got the backorder email today. Anyone know what's up? Sounds delayed to me... edit: fingers don't work
  16. That McLean Mosaic is one of my favorite things- in fact it was the only thing in the changer at work today. 8 straight hours! I find that it and Structurally Sound (and The In Between) reward repeated listenings like few other things do. Groovy but not too sweet. Inside-Outside but not Out. Glad you like the McLean, anyway! B-)
  17. Of course, 'Structurally Sound' was recorded out on the West Coast by Pacific Jazz so some of that 'vibe' may be a factor. Not just the recording quality, but the sound of the band itself (and Booker in particular) were hard to listen to ... for me. Do you have Jackie McLean issues as well? I dig the two Booker Conns in much the same way I dig McLean's 60s BNs.
  18. It's been 12 weeks. Where are the February RVGs?
  19. Connor did co-produce the 32 Jazz comp w/ Dorn. I play it more than my Bethlehems, where performances are swell but novelty material (Chiquita from Chihuahua) gives me a headache.
  20. The 32 Jazz two-fer Atlantic comp is swell, if it's still out there. Nice extensive overview of the period. And I think Chris was involved in the track selection.
  21. My favorite organ combo recording ever. It spent all of last month in the changer. I couldn't come up with a good reason to take it out....
  22. Apparently Nicorette doesn't taste like crap anymore. Worked for me back when it still did...
  23. Yesterday I found a sealed copy of "Softly as a Summer Breeze" for $14 and picked it up. Psyched to have found it, being OOP and all. Today I pop it in the car player and get "Hello Mary Lou, Goodbye Heart". Ricky frickin' Nelson. The disc itself is printed correctly, just plays wrong. Anyone else run into this problem?
  24. I'd forgotten that the GNP CD Ten-tette material was originally a Capitol ten-inch. I'd also forgotten that the Fantasy session was a quartet one. I forget lots of things these days. Thankfully I have you guys to hand over the brainwork to.
