I shouldn't knock Dodge in general, but I did have some bad experiences in the past. I can only speak of the two I had in 1996. They both had major problems and I never got out of them, what I do from the Fords.

My fleet is 90% Ford, 10% GM. I've had little problems with either, but I don't have anything older than a 1997. Those old Ford 6 cylinders are cheap to repair and last forever. The same could be said for the GM 350 V8. Have a mechanic check it out, if it's solid, and you don't plan on hauling massive amounts of weight, buy it. If you worry about load capabilities, I would recommend stepping up to a 3/4 ton. STAY AWAY FROM DODGE! I would also avoid the imports, unless they are newer models.
