  1. Aye Yaye yaye! I was thinking I needed to get Vol. 6! Now there are 7 and 8? Darn this place!
  2. Hmmmmm. . . looks as if you're right, I can see no evidence on the web that DIW reissued the Stitt material. Go Dragon then.
  3. Hmmm. . . I remember all the discs available from DIW. But I'm at the age where my memory is beginning to be suspect . . . . Shouldn't be hard to find Dmitry. I would pursue the cduniverse route with a call or email.
  4. IMO as well. This box set also came out later on DIW. . . never saw or heard that version. Dragon Records can indeed be a deadly fiscal direction to pursue. Reminds me I still need to grab one of the Gullins.
  5. Many more happy ones!
  6. Not me. I like the Gales much more. Different strokes for different folks. . . one record label!
  7. Lancaster's Vortex is really beautiful. . . it may be a bit on the side of the scale that the Gales are for your tastes then BUT no annoying vocals (if you find those vocals annoying). I love the Gales. I love the Lancaster too. Though it may be not operating properly, you can find Water releases on this site: www.buyrunt.com
  8. DEFINITELY. Those Gales are favorites of mine! The first of the Blue Notes to get the Water treatment I believe, and fine jobs!
  9. Goldberg, Not Blue Note, but don't let the Byard Lancaster and the Leo Wright (both Vortex lps reissued on Water) slip past you!
  10. Another fine Waters Records release! I like the title track on this one a lot. And I like the whole package. . .notes, sound, performances. Yeah, this is typical Earland so I think you'll find him doing that thang. . . I haven't noticed it, but it's not something that I notice him doing, it doesn't annoy me.
  11. I've seen a number of Sun Ra Japanese reissues (one, on MPS, is one of the best sounding cds I have!) although we could hope for more. Admittedly, yes, it's labels that Japan likes to mine like Savoy and MPS that get the treatment, though there are some later live ones on other labels that have been reissued (though I have passed on them; I'm not that hot on Ra after the seventies). I'm glad you like these Young dates. I've tried. . . I listen every now and then to the lp burns I have. . . but I just don't quite really enjoy these.
  12. Yes, I have a small bedroom that is my room. . . my library, my dressing room, my listening room! I only wish it were bigger! But it's a blessing.
  13. "Usually ships in 1 - 2 Days" http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...298001895&BAB=M
  14. Many more happy returns!
  15. Yes, the same thing happened to another. I couldn't wait for Domination to hit yourmusic.com so I got mine early from cduniverse, no mixup!
  16. Let's mildly pepper them with three or four e-mails, and see if we can get some more info. I'd be VERY interested to know what there plans are for this set. And while I'm at it, who's on "Inner Glow" again?? And when was it recorded (roughly)? Memory tells me it's a studio date, not live - right? (Sorry, I'm at work - don't have my complete BN discography close at hand.) (And before anybody bitches -- yes, my Blindfold Test answers (#25) will be delivered yet before the end of this calendar year.) 17. There was so much personality in his guitar writing and playing. He really was somehow able to put out REAL feeling. So many great performances and compositions!
  18. Baggy Rehearsals, Morning Symphony and Hear My Music have killer sound quality.
  19. Another fine one in my opinion.
  20. This is a great one in my opinion. I think Flora is coming even further into her own the last five years or so.
  21. Homeless and Life After That. . . I really like these two cds from 2000 and 2003. Not trying to be anything other than "Airto Music." Those two Buddha lps with Hermeto Pascoal are also excellent. I guess that I like the Airto stuff more than you. . . . He's an oddball.
  22. Yes, I guess I was mistaken, "Identity" is the one. I really think that one is one of his very best.
  23. I know what you mean re: Flora and Airto. I like the two as sidepersons better, separately or together. I like the most recent of the Flora and Airto albums a lot, much more than most of the earliest ones. Though I must point out two early ones I think are excellent: Airto: Mistaken Identity Flora: 500 Miles High These were different than the others and I really dig them. I dig Egmonti and Pascoal though. .. I like a lot of their albums. I need to get more Pascoal albums in time. . . .
  24. Very rare! Right up there with Voodoo Chile Revisited Part Two. Flip side of I live in a Room full of Funhouse Windows with that electric banjo solo.
  25. Shoot no, then it would be WELL-KNOWN! It's so obscure it was never written or recorded!
