  1. Yes.
  2. Organic air-chilled chicken breast that I marinated in Herdez tomatillo sauce last night and baked this morning; with mashed Yukon Gold potatoes and steamed asparagus. Come on five o'clock!
  3. If I'm remembering the tracks correctly (from other versions) this is a really good Afro Blue!
  4. The Jamal Trios (either with gibtox or skins). I think they're up to that company.
  5. Don't be skeptical! It's very cool!
  6. Just watched it with the sound off. I wish she wouldn't dye her hair.
  7. Wow, some Carmen McRae! That version of the Great American Songbook is the way to go; the American cds drop a lot of great patter and intros etc. I've never heard the other McRae, may look for this one.
  8. I met David Wild here in Austin at the Elephant Room this year. Wow. Nice man and very knowledgeable! Good pianist and bandleader too!
  9. Thanks guys. They would have been better by David Wild. . .but oh well!
  10. Any good liner notes? By pianist David Wild perhaps?
  11. I can't wait for the mailman to drop this off!
  12. And hey, I knew Monk was obsessive-compulsive, but I didn't know about being white and a detective and that other stuff!
  13. Well, I knew he was an obsessive compulsive! This reminds me of the email correspondance I had briefly with the late Phil Evans regarding Dick Sudhalter's "research" for the Bix bio they both shared. He was so furious that Sudhalter had assured him that he had verified facts that turned out to be no more than anecdotal hearsay. . . . I think he was so upset that he didn't live long enough!
  14. Not sure, I've only seen a handful of episodes, he was not on those!
  15. Oh man. . . we could start a PANIC!
  16. Joley Fisher is now on. . .Desperate Housewives!
  17. What, you've never seen it? I have to confess. . . I hate talk shows generally. But hers is watchable!
  18. Tony, good news! Be just the tiniest bit concientious, okay?
  19. Oh yes, though none I think were commercially released at the time.
  20. These are all excellent cds. .. great sound and performances!
  21. Yes, interesting choice! Thanks for the headsup.
  22. Yes, the Bennie Green is great. Though I must say I prefer the sound of the Japanese cds of these sessions which I have. BUT one session appears here in stereo (for the first time?) that is mono on the other cd I have.
  23. John, thanks for repying. That's my impression as well.
