No arguments from me! I don't think I quite agree about the statement above about Weir pre 1972. . . . I have lots of stuff I listen to pre 1972 where Weir is quite audible and quite important. Anyway, not meaning to diminish the importance of Phil in the band pre 1972 or post!

Jerry always had cool guitars with the band. . . from that Guild he started out with through the Les Pauls and the Strats and then those incredible Irwin guitars. . . . One of the ones I like the sounds of the most is the Travis Bean he sometimes used in the Jerry Garcia Band (as well as with the Dead).
