Well, it's real sugar, cane sugar, not corn syrup. And it's spicy. This was my father's favorite soft drink. Lucinda and I have a root beer float with vanilla ice cream at least once a week, in honor of my family's tradition--that was our celebratory and New Year's drink--we're not "drinkers." I like their Cream Soda and Black Cherry Soda as well. They used to offer Birch Beer, which is excellent, but they no longer manufacture it.

YaY!

I really enjoyed the first season--if you like the show so far I think you'll enjoy the rest of that season. I haven't gotten to Season 2 yet. . . still hoping for a time when Lucinda will decide to watch it with me.

Re-visiting this one as I got called away in the midst of it for household consultation. I reluctantly agreed to the kitchen renovation that Lucinda has wanted to do for several years now. Okay maybe six years or so. It means I have to answer a zillion questions about this and that choice. . . even though I told her I would just rubber stamp what she wanted as far as color or style or material. Sigh. Visiting there was one of the highlights of my two years in Ethiopia. Another was meeting Haile Selassie at my school, and being in the ancient walled city of Harrar (and feeding a hyena by hand!) I never saw this photo of Billie before today.
