  3. Shelly Manne & His Men “Jazz from the Pacific Northwest” Reel to Real cd 1 Two killer performances, one from the Monterey Jazz Festival, the other from the Penthouse in Seattle. Great bands.

  5. Dexter Gordon “Night Ballads - Montreal 1977” Uptown cd This one cost me a pretty penny but it was worth it. Recorded live at The Rising Sun in Montreal, November 9-12, 1977. Featuring the great saxophonist Dexter Gordon, pianist George Cables, bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Eddie Gladden.
  6. The Complete Capitol Studio Recordings of Stan Kenton 1943-1947, disc II Revisiting this set with enjoyment. That studio at that time had such a rich sound for their releases.
  7. Allen, those "Ellington in Order" volumes are not physical product. I myself have fewer issues listening to the Centennial material than it seems others do.

Fernando Torres featuring Tom Harrell and Arida Conta and the Sirius String Quartet “Secret Rhythms” Muse cd At The Showcase: Live In Chicago 1976-1977

  18. Nat King Cole “Live At The Blue Note Chicago” Iconic 2 cd set Culled from TEN HOURS of recordings, this two cd set is great fun for Cole fans. Sound is decent enough. John Collins and Lee Young on board–which are definitely factors that made me make sure to corner a copy of this and luckily it wasn’t too hard.
  19. This morning is nice and cool and Fiona is feeling feisty. We bobbed along around “the block” with a flashlight even before the songbirds were talking. This is a wonderful time of year. Starting off with a new arrival: Cannonball Adderley “POPPIN’ IN PARIS: LIVE AT L’OLYMPIA 1972” Elemental Music cd This one is all about George Duke so far!
