  1. Actually according to a Mosaic statement, French Verve had a cd set planned at the time, which unfortunately never saw the light of day; Mosaic could not get the cd rights but in hindsight it's too bad they didn't.
  2. Lps mastered by RVG. Wonderful music!
  3. Many many more returns!

    TAKE 6

Will they make me forget all about. . . the Boswells? I've heard a few tunes I like, but I've not bought anything. . .because I've also heard the BoysIIMenesque material. . .
  5. I do. But not necessarily CHEESE whiz. Some places have standards.
  6. Doesn't matter what he eats here in Tejas. . . he's not going to win this state. (Even if by the oddest of chances he really won the state, the fix would be in.) I wish it were even remotely possible!
  7. There are times of course, both at home and at work, when I don't listen to music for longish periods of time. It takes a big toll on me! I'm much happier when I can hear it, even in the faintest background!
  8. I certainly don't want to do anything that might endanger the Kerry campaign. But here in Texas. . . no one knows any better. And I lived in Philly from the ages of 2 to 11, from 1957 to 1966. . .a n d I don't remember any Whiz on hoagies! Of any kind! (The kind of Philly hoagy I long for is the italian type! YUM!)
  9. Shoot, I'm glad you didn't pass on that one, I think the upgraded sound is great! Today I preordered the Ayler box set from cduniverse.
  10. HEY, when I make a cheesesteak hoagie, I use SWISS CHEESE. That stuff makes a very fix it and forget it adhesive!
  11. Nothing mystical or even politically inspired. It comes in a can, or a jar. It looks. . . well I don't like its looks. I once saw my brother eat some that had sat on a cracker so long it had HARDENED. THAT DID IT FOR ME! NO MORE WHIZ!
  12. Hmmmm. . .that would be annoying. Luckily for the last decade or so I can sleep my six or seven hours. . . and that's it. I wake up on my own after that amount of time or by my little helper cat and . . . that's it, I can't go back to sleep so I get up and start the day. Get some good early morning listening in that way!
  13. Yes, I vaguely remember the joys of driving and listening. . . .! NOT possible for me.
  14. Yes, all our pals there: BE SAFE!
  15. It works. . . try some refried beans in there too. But it's not going to win a taste test against some real mexican cheeses. . . but hardly would it be expected to. I voted against the Whiz. For many reasons.
  16. Okay, some of you ARE at home listening, some of you are lucky to work at home in any capacity and listen . . . . I'm lucky to be able to listen at low volumes at work the ten hours or so I'm here a day, or else I'd go nuts. But I've been so happy with my stereo system lately that I honestly wish I could play hookey and stay home and listen; I sure wish I were at home listening to my stereo right now. I can't wait for tomorrow morning's listening. . . I live for my solid listening sessions on the weekend. It sure is expensive, being a music lover, but the rewards are a good compensation!
  17. "Really warm person. And one of my favorite drummers." Hey that sounds like someone I know named Andrew!
  18. It's weird. I had a two cd Miles "Big Fun" on CSP, and that doesn't fit the profile. .. was damned glad to have it for years and years!
  19. And hey, I've heard that "Oh, I play in Duke's band. . ." got you lots of phone numbers! -_-
  20. State of the Tenor seems to still be in print. How about the Tim Hagans cds? I have one and it's very interesting. . . .!
  21. Well, I've been told that it is scheduled for Sunday Nov. 4, at Bass Concert Hall, 7:00 pm. No mention anwhere that I've found of the size or nature of his accompaniment. Tickets are supposed to go on sale the 22 or 23 of this month; I'm going to be out of town but have a friend getting tickets for me. (Literally, as a birthday gift!)
  22. This should be a good box. . . but I wish they would bring the Cellar Door material out first! Even though I've heard it all now, I've been psyched about this material since Bob Belden and Michael Cuscuna both started leaking information about it years ago!
  23. I like the spine on the Gil Evans box the best. . . . It's no big deal to have them or not, but having them is pleasurable at times!
