  1. Archie Shepp ‎"The Cry Of My People" Impulse! ‎Japan cd UCCU-90081 from the "Rare Groove Funk Best Collection 1000" 2014 I paid a prettier penny than I might have wanted to for this one, but it was the last Impulse Shepp I needed a great sounding cd of and it delivers. I like this album a lot, and am happy to have this edition. (This will likely insure that it will get a new wonderful reissue from Japan soon).

  7. Zoot Sims "Gettin' Sentimental Over You" Candid cd Zoot with Jimmy Rowles again. . a fantastic combo. With Bob Cranshaw on bass and Mickey Roker on drums. I don't think there's a bad Zoot quartet album.
  8. "Nu Brasil 2" 2 cd set, disc 1 A very nice compilation that was a gateway drug to several performers compiled here. Fun listen, nicely sequenced.
  9. I discovered my wife loves "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and we've watched all the first two seasons and are starting season 3. Wonderful show.

  13. Thanks. I corrected it with a different pic.
  14. Resident Alien. . .so good.
  15. Zoot Sims "The Bossa Nova Sessions--featuring Jim Hall"
  16. Eliane Elias "Love Stories" Concord cd A chill pill and it's needed. . . nerves are frayed after my wife receiving some heavy car repair news and the continuing saga of my Dad's health care.
  17. On another board we had an interesting discussion about bossa nova and jazz. Some were maintaining bossa nova was jazz, others that it wasn't. I'm in the camp that it's not jazz, something else, but some very jazzy bossa nova happens and I love it. This is one of those recordings. I'm reaching for it lately--it delivers as bossa nova when I have that frequent itch, and there's some great jazz-sounding guitar and "flavor," and the recording is very very good. Fernanda Cunha "Jobim at 90"
  18. Chick Corea"Origin--Live at the Blue Note"--single disc version.
  19. This one again. Their interpretations of Coleman works are very interesting to hear with piano, vibes and four horns. SFJazz Collective Inaugral Season Live 2004, disc 1 Original Compositions and Works of Ornette Coleman
  20. SFJazz Collective Inaugral Season Live 2004, disc 1 Original Compositions and Works of Ornette Coleman
