  1. Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo "No Mundo dos Sons" disc 2
  2. Kurt Elling "Night Moves"
  3. It's been too long since I played this masterpiece. And it's timely . . . it's time. Marvin Gaye "What's Goin' On" Mobile Fidelity SACD version For a few years I played this every Sunday. Then I moved from Texas and the tradition became interrupted and not restarted. . . .
  4. I couldn't resist playing this again today, I needed the boost. Such a wonderful album! Ike Quebec "Bossa Nova Soul Samba" 24 bit by RVG Japanese Blue Note cd
  5. Watched the season finale of Perry Mason. This show got better and better as it went along and I'm glad that it has been renewed. Also watching the final season of X-Files, which I have never seen before. It's interesting the number of actors that show up in this season . . . Michael McKean, Burt Reynolds, Jane Lynch, Aaron Paul, Alan Dale, Paul Faustino, Michael Emerson, et al. And Annabeth Gish impresses me in this season and the preceding one. Also it dawned on me that the character Agent Doggett, played by Robert Patrick, may have been inspired by John Walsh of America's Most Wanted fame. Walsh would have been a big TV presence at this time and the character shares a bit of Walsh's intense demeaner and like Walsh is motivated by the murder of his young son.
  6. Dexter Gordon "Live at Carnegie Hall" Columbia cd
  7. John Coltrane "Blue World" Japan SHM-CD So glad this was released!
  8. Flying Lotus, "Cosmogramma"
  9. There was a quartet session in California (on Seven Steps to Heaven) and of course occasionally live the saxophonist would sit out (my favorite version of "I Thought about You" at Antibes for example). . . but otherwise I think . . . yeah, no other Quartet performaces. . . . (?)
  10. Kurt Elling "Live in Chicago" Blue Note cd A very moving version of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes". . . .
  11. Watching the "International Jazz Day from Cuba" hour long show that PBS broadcast. Excellent!
  12. "The Popular Ellington" RCA/Sony Japan cd. Throughout the decades Duke could play his hits and keep them breathing with new expensive gentlemen and a new suit of arrangements. Great sound on this session.
  13. Houston Person "Trust in Me" Prestige cd Contains most of these two LPs
  14. Stan Getz "Nobody Else but Me" Verve cd. Bass – Gene Cherico Drums – Joe Hunt Tenor Saxophone – Stan Getz Vibraphone – Gary Burton Notes Recorded March 4, 1964 at Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey Too bad it took 30 years for this music to be released because it is wonderful. But we have it!
  15. Stefan Harris "The Great Unification Theory" Blue Note cd This is a thoroughly modern larger ensemble session with intriguing arrangements and great playing that incorporates a world of jazz forms. I slept on this one too long.
  16. I agree, this is a great Houston Person disc. My wife even likes it. That's sort of a miracle.
  17. Houston Person "Legends of Acid Jazz" Prestige cd
  18. I'd recommend the AC14XL Mk II for any component besides a power amplifier or integrated or receiver. For those I'd use the AC9 AC9 SE Mk II.
  19. Tommy Flanagan "Beyond the Bluebird" featuring Kenny Burrell, Japanese cd VERY nice.
  20. They are a very good value for the dollars, especially those that have been upgraded to Cardas copper. I have carefully built systems that prefers other cables (PS Audio AC-12 and Iconoclast, which are considerably more expensive). But as a great initial step up from OEM power cords the Pangea are worth exploring.
  21. The two Pangea XL cables have sold. The other cables are still available. Thanks.
  22. Dexter Gordon "Gotham City" cd from the Columbia Albums Collection box set. Forgot what a nice album this was. Bass – Percy Heath Drums – Art Blakey Guitar – George Benson Piano – Cedar Walton Tenor Saxophone – Dexter Gordon Trumpet – Woody Shaw
