I'm not a digital file hunter and gatherer so I welcomed another shot at a silver plated disc version.
Only rarely has this NOT been the case in my experience with any amazon, and especially I've found it fruitful to order when there is a change from not listed to "In Stock." I took the plunge. There is nothing lost in the venture if it does not ship.
On another board at least one US member received one this week fron a UK Amazon marketplace seller.
And this item is noted "In Stock" which it was not when I looked Tuesday.
Revisiting "Just Coolin'" by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, the previously rejected session finally released by Blue Note.
Not the best Messengers album and I can see why it went unissued, but still glad it came out.
Trying this one again. I had to adjust the ZROCK2 as this is very compressed sounding otherwise. I like Kurt best when his lyrics were more conventional as they were at the beginning of his career. That said I am liking this one more this time around.
Kurt Elling "Secrets are the Best Stories"
I have everything that I can find of '64 and have this one too, but I will buy it again. All of '64 is essential for me. I don't think I have the '75, glad this is coming out, thanks for the notice.
Finally getting some time to listen after a week mostly away from home with in-laws and services.
Back to this one because it sounded so good first time through.
Jim Gailloreto's Split Decision "Shadow Puppets"
A new arrival, featuring Laurence Hobgood on keyboards.
I don't think there is any true stereo recorded Bird, there is one concert where a stereo was created by using two differently recorded sources blended together.
Lots of in-law stuff most of today but sneaking this in:
Ike Quebec "Bossa Nova Soul Samba" 24 bit by RVG Japanese Blue Note cd.
Just love this session!
Houston Person "To Etta With Love" High Note Records cd.
My wife lost her mother on Monday morning (not unexpected) and she's home being a bit sad and luckily a lot mellow and she likes this one. (A rare jazz occurance!)
Now (my wife fell asleep downstairs, I'm up with the main system now)
Bennie Maupin "The Jewel in the Lotus" ECM cd
