  1. I'm listening to the stereo SACD of this title as the just-released mono SACD is on the mail truck out to me today. I haven't listened to this since the first weeks it was released, and it's an amazing SACD. You can hear so much of the details of his singing and playing, the room and the percussion he adds to the guitar and with his body.
  2. I'm painting floors, and I almost literally painted myself into a corner with this SACD in the player so I'm listening to it on repeat. Such beautiful music.
  3. 14. The Sheik Of Araby - Benny Morton 15. Conversing In Blue - Benny Morton 16. Blues For Clarinet - Jimmy Hamilton 17. Slapstick - Jimmy Hamilton 18. Blues In My Music Room - Jimmy Hamilton I used to know the answer to this off the top of my head. I do know the above tracks are on this EMI Blue Note cd: http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG_500/MI0000/168/MI0000168036.jpg?partner=allrovi.com http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG_500/MI0000/168/MI0000168037.jpg?partner=allrovi.com
  4. No problem! Glad it helped. I need to spin the ODJB material I have again soon. . . I have two King Jazz CDs, the Timeless, the French RCA discs. . . . Last time I spun them the London material really stood out.
  5. Is this any help? http://www.avidgroup.co.uk/acatalog/info_2CD_AVC856.html
  6. AMEN!
  7. That's what I thought, 49 total. That's a good price for the whole set in that condition! Must resist. .. I think I can resist as I have all the Storyville cds, a few Phontastic LPs and a number of those transferred to DVD-R.
  8. I believe there were 49 total. It's hard to find when they were released, early eighties is my guess.
  9. A beautiful woman who makes fun records.
  10. The new May 1977 "Get Shown the Light" box set, the Cornell Show, disc 3.
  11. Another cheap Blu-ray Audio disc from Japan:
  12. Japanese Blu-ray Audio disc. Was on sale for 10 bucks!
  13. "Highway One" from this newly released two cd set: Member has made a donation.
  14. At least you're not going to be 62 as I will be in a few months! Hope it was a great one Kevin.
  15. Trying out the new Huron OS firmware from PS Audio in my DirectStream DAC. Nice! This sounds so good. . . even from a boom box. . . this quartet made great music together.
  16. The SHM-CD Byrd, Shorter, Hancock, Warren, Higgins
  17. Huh. I think she's a great vocalist. To each their own.
  18. I saw this and fast-forwarded through a lot of it. I think part of the aim of the show was to showcase the technology of the early recording years and show the quality that could be recorded with the earlier equipment. I did watch one performance all the way through: Rhiannon Giddens doing a Victoria Spivey song. Ms Giddens is not a hipster type but an educated and skilled singer, multi-instrumentalist and performer, I just love her work. It was great to see her little three minute spot. Some Giddens:
  19. Yes, I have the Clark and Turrentine releases on SACD and other cds and really enjoy them so I feel I'm good for this catalog. I have a few others too but they're not essential. The Solids are a little loud but with my system, even with headphones, they aren't problematic. Interested to see what label Solid turns to next.
  20. Well, I'm glad I jumped on the pre-orders then; I have the Little, the two Dorhams, the Jackie Paris and the Bennie Green. Sonics are the best I've heard these sessions, and the price was right.
  21. Interesting. At the moment on cdjapan it says 3 to 7 days for the new reissue, and 2 to 4 weeks for the SHM-CD from 2008. . .
