  1. I listened to Dylan's "John Wesley Harding" on the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab stereo SACD, and now I'm listening to the same title in the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab mono SACD. Both are excellent masterings of an album that I find fascinating. Though each SACD is mastered by a different engineer the tonality is very similar. The mono is punchy and fat sound, the stereo a bit mellower and a bit more mysterious seeming. Dylan's music throughout his career fascinates me more and more as I age.
  2. Two different bands, two different sessions, no overlapping of personnel. Right now: SACD 2 And yes, it's loud.
  3. It's not a duo, two separate sessions.
  4. These may be hard to find. Here is one appearance: https://www.discogs.com/Louis-Armstrong-Fats-Waller-Jam-session-Louis-Armstrong-Fats-Waller-19381947/release/9540176 Another: https://www.discogs.com/Louis-Armstrong-Fats-Waller-Live-1938-1940/release/8863003 Also: http://www.allmusic.com/album/1938-1939-vol-5-mw0000411044/credits I have it on one of the King Jazz cds of Waller's work, possibly Vol. 14. . . .
  5. The Japanese LP facsimile RVG cd. Been too long since I heard this great disc. And it got Lucy dancing around the living room a bit, a good thing!
  6. This SACD again. Perfect for this afternoon.
  7. I agree. I have four cd versions!
  8. This time it's the CTI Supreme Series Blu-Spec CD version. Which sounds spectacular (in its mellow fluid way). Love this music so much.
  9. Animation (Bob Belden and Tim Hagans) "Asiento"
  10. "Dynamic Stereo" in this instance is not weasel wordage.
  11. Spent yesterday taking the system apart and moving it so that it was ready for a new living room rug which arrived at five, and then I spent the evening putting the system back together. Finally everything is warmed up again and playing and boy was the music missed! Now
  12. Yes, I recommend it, cd out June 16.
  13. Mary Lou Williams, with Ronnie Boykins of Sun Ra fame, and Jo Jones of Count Basie fame. Very good.
  14. Just a note to say that Blue Note is part of Universal, did not go to Warner.
  15. Now the second LP from the Record Store Release "Les Liasions Dangereuses". . . wow. It's exciting to have new Monk from '60, and with Wilen.
  16. They were the days indeed! Yes, I think that the Condon did "sell out" rather than "time out." Great box set, and the sound is so much better than that on the Collectables cds that were released.
