  1. The recently released Warner Japan SHM-CD. Great music, great sound.
  2. I've heard cassettes of what I think is much of this, and it's very nice as well.
  3. The Complete Session, disc 1
  4. Another Platinum SHM-CD from Universal Japan.
  5. The Platinum SHM-CD version. Covers on this series are beautifully printed--vivid, glossy. Sound is great as well.
  6. Yes, I pre-ordered, looking forward to it. Some previous discussion:
  7. It's interesting but perhaps not essential. It's a Thomas showcase and he's a bit subdued here on this track. I like it, I'm glad to have it and the whole release is great sonically, and just overwhelming in the quality of the printing and presentation of the artwork. If I were to get this just for that one track. . . I'd be disappointed.
  8. I do, quite a bit actually. I don't drink alcohol though, so maybe that's how I do it! I spend a lot of my income on music one way or another (discs, equipment, instruments). Anyway, yes the price is a deterrent to many I know. I think we get a lot for our money, but I'm still looking at it with "old school" glasses, and I want a lot of the stuff we get for our money, and know that "want" is not necessarily shared by others.
  9. Yes, I was wrong, thought that was already pre-ordered, I will as soon as I see the opportunity, I've pre-ordered every set for the last eight years or so.
  10. The Kirk DVD on that set is just amazing!
  11. I didn't reply to the other thread. To date I have all the items that are currently available for sale and have the next set on pre-order. So I can't really do much more other than buy other copies as gifts, which I may do this Xmas season--I have a brother and a father who could enjoy some more Mosaic. I wonder if concentrating on vinyl releases again may be a benefit to Mosaic's business. It seems that jazz RSD releases on vinyl fly out of the stores and command big ebay prices later. . . . Perhaps a return to the Mosaic Select with 3 LPs instead of cds (or as well as cds?) would be a viable venture. I would think that the Impulse catalogue might do well this way, or . . . ?
  12. That was the RSD price, already "flippers" are asking for more! It does come in a box with a 48 page booklet. Sam Records has a great reputation for quality printing, material, pressing and sound quality. People spend a lot more for "quality reissues" this century than I would/do. The CD will work for me.
  13. I'm still going to hold off for the CD release, but there are some RSD LP copies available from Sam Records at the moment: http://www.samrecords.fr/shop/thelonious-monk-les-liaisons-dangereuses-1960-sam-records-saga-1959/
  14. I didn't really have to for present health reasons, but the future is dicier with a few gallons of whole milk a week. I can't do the 2% Lord knows I've tried. The regular Organic Farms milk is really good, but there is something special about this Grass Fed Milk, and the price unfortunately reflects that!
  15. Great set! I have that one too.
  16. This would be excellent as a release with the entire concert. Even an official release of the released material would be great, though it sounds really good on the ABC/Impulse lp I have. It has been out as part of a "two-fer plus" release on cd from Solar Records, one of the Gray Market trailblazers. . . .
  17. Raw milk is hard to handle, need to get used to it I think. This milk is . . . well I want to say "like butter" but it's delicious and smooth and so different from the supermarket "non-organic" brands. Those have a decided "tang" that this does not. It's like ultra-thin cream, it's so great really cold, and great in cereal. I've gravitated to organic brands in part to cut down on the milk I drink--I spend as much and get far less volume. . . I cherish it because I won't let myself spend more than what I used to. There's a real difference in organic milks but every brand I've tried is so much better than the "ordinary" milk. I usually get the supermarket (here it's Heinen's) organic milk until and unless other brands (Horizon, Nature Valley, etc.) are on sale.
  18. Really expensive! REALLY good.
  19. An Ellington octet recording that has a nice mellow "having fun" vibe.
