  1. One last one, with my favorite bedroom guitar, a sort of custom Tele, US made, Kona and walnut chambered body, mahogany set neck, PAF pups. Warm and deep bluesy guitar.
  2. Love to see a photo (or three), Lon. One thing I hate about shopping around for amps is that so many of them are one shade or another of... black. I've seen some gorgeous custom-cabinets in maple, birch, walnut... and a few with more exotic woods, but they're not exactly common. Sorry Jim, didn't notice this post til today. Here's a few photos:
  3. If I could only have one Mahavishnu Orchestra disc, it would be "Between Nothingness and Eternity."
  4. And Dick's Picks are a series of live releases from the Grateful Dead, most of the time complete shows. I have all of the pre-1978 ones (my cut off point for Dead collecting) and they're recommended!
  5. I got the Getz in the mail yesterday as well as this, which I started with:
  6. 1968. . . one of the last of the really good years! I confess I like 1965 to 1970 best of all.
  7. Okay, this is it: http://www.ayler.org/html/holyghost.html
  8. This will get you dates and locations. Follow the other links and get more stuff, part of the book, etc. http://www.revenantrecords.com/ayler/tracks.html
  9. May take a little longer to arrive Flurin. Receiving orders from jazzology can take a few weeks domestically.
  10. You FINALLY caught up to me! Happy Birthday you Free Soul!
  11. Starting this for the third time through, this time on Blu-Ray. As awesome as the DVD picture was, this is just slightly improved on Blu-Ray in my opinion. But the sound is significantly improved. Blu-Ray is often incredibly impressive as a sonic medium, and it is here.
  12. I don't think I've ever seen what exactly will be in that box. I've seen lots of speculation. According to Columbia/Sony it's the "ultimate" collector's set for Miles, whatever that means. I'm think it's going to be very expensive.
  13. A1 Nuttin' Out Jones 6:10 A2 Out Of Nowhere 7:30 A3 Body And Soul 6:25 B1 Impressions Of Eric Dolphy 7:00 B2 Everything Happens To Me 6:40 B3 Just Friends 7:45 Credits Bass - Bruce Cale (tracks: B2, B3) , Dave Willis (3) , Jeff Clyne (tracks: A3, B1) , Rick Laird Drums - Joe Oliver (2) Flute - Prince Lasha Harp - David Snell (2) Piano - Mike Carr (2) (tracks: B3) , Stan Tracey Saxophone [Alto] - Prince Lasha Trombone - John Mumford Trumpet - Chris Bateson
  14. That's a good explanation mjzee. I love Smith's sound and the feel of the groups he leads. It's a great set, with excellent sonics.
  15. Price works out about the same if you buy both from Worlds due to free shipping. And I like supporting Worlds, they're a small outfit with great selection. Good reissues, as one would expect from Uptown. Sound is quite good on the live disc.
  16. It's different . . more conventional than you'd expect. That said, I like it, it's groovey. Nicely remastered.
  17. 13 dicscs. . . or 71?
  18. I seem to watch about one episode a month on a local channel. The last one I saw was one of my favorites. I find it hilarious when one of Elaine's boyfriends gets all upset that he has developed hair loss when he begins to after having shaved his head for years. So. . . on target.
  19. I wish they would remaster Borboletta. That's a beautiful album, really one of my favorites. I like Santana better than the Beatles in important ways for me and my musical life. But I really like the Beatles too. EMI did these reissues RIGHT. I confess I'm actually surprised.
  20. No kidding, that's an amazing box set. It's given me years of enjoyment. Right now, Griffin on Storyville.
  21. Crazy? Don't know. In bad financial situation? I can imagine that these days.
  22. Seem like what was recorded to me.
  23. Maybe. . . or Teo's?
