  1. Many more happy happy ones!
  2. A great cd!
  3. I've never played a Schecter Brad. Nor known anyone who has one. I gravitate to the traditional, and fell in love with Fenders hard the last year or two. Schecter has gone through several ownerships and are now I think all Korean made. I'm sure the quality is decent and the scope of sound suitable. I seem to see these more in the hands of hard and indie rock players than players of any other type.
  4. You can get these off the rack at a music store for about 650, so that's a nice price if it's in great shape. Those are decent guitars. Very Fender Strat-like (it's a Leo Fender design, Leo is the "L" in G&L) though not exactly like a Strat. I've played one of these a friend has, she really likes it, I think it's quite a nice guitar for the money. Made in Korea. I love that finish and pickguard combination.
  5. It would be Mingus for me as well. Probably something from the 1964 European Tour.
  6. Those didn't do much for me. But they did do a lot for me. But not sure how a soul fan would encounter them.
  7. 6 out of 12. Good enough for me.
  8. RIP Billy. We're lucky we have the albums, we can hear you.
  9. I personally prefer "Let it Be" to "Naked," but I'm happy to have both. I'd have preferred "Naked" to mirror the released album's tracklist, and maybe use the same takes.
  10. And didn't they put out a "Jazz In Hollywood" boxed set that was better than the Fantasy single discs? Yes, more material than Fantasy released I believe. They claimed involvement from the original producers/record label onwers.
  11. Miles was there too, I believe. Was RCA, not Flying Dutchman I think.
  12. Yes, all my recommendations would be OLD, I've not found a yen for new rock stuff. But I wanted to say welcome to Austin Bol!
  13. My set is shipped but tracking shows I won't get it til Wednesday. I think it moves to a horse and buggy around Little Rock on Monday. Odd that it doesn't have the "XX"s that promos I've seen have.
  14. Weird. This is likely to be released to stores sooner or later with that huge "run" number. Did you look on your invoice to see if there is a "number"?
  15. I guess I'll respectfully disagree as Naked was released by them and which was, I believe, a group effort (although I'm not sure what you mean by group effort). Naked just represents Let it Be as apparently they wanted it to be when they recorded it: true to the get back concept, not over produced. Brad, what I mean is "Naked" is not something released by the group when they were a group. Which puts it in there with Anthology, etc. which also are not part of this reissue program.
  16. What I was referring to was the album itself, as originally releasedby the Beatles, as opposed to "Naked" which was not at all related to the Beatles as a group effort. (Which is why I don't think "Naked" belongs in this group of "remasters." I'm not opposed to them remastering it in the near future). Not sure I have a favorite guitar solo on the tracks/tune. They're both fine.
  17. I like both versions of "Let It Be." I think I like the original release better than "Naked"; I like the fleshed out bits, they work for me. Not sure that "Naked" should be a candidate for the "remastered" series, any more than the Anthologies, the BBC Sessions, etc. The original really is the dividing line.
  18. Thanks for the info. Between you and JohnETman, I ended up ordering this and the Ella "Twelve Nights" from amazon.fr Both sets shipped for 101 dollars. . . . Not bad.
  19. Yes, I know. But strange things happen.
  20. 'Em sure'r purdy! There are many vintage lap steels for sale in this town. Never been tempted to get one though.
  21. Got a shipping notice from UPS today.
  22. There was a Japanese minilp facimile cd of the Powell Roost material which I think was pitch-corrected; it came out after the Powell box set and was US remastered. I guess what I meant was. . . most of this material is not in print. . . if you see it in your shopping, sieze the opportunity. One can hope that in the future there will be a cohesive collection. . . I'd buy it, definitely. We can hope, right? If you see any of the Mythic Sounds cds with material in this time period, grab them, they're excellent.
