Officially, by Verve USA? Nope. http://www.jazzdiscography.com/Labels/impulse.htm

I don't know about a footnote. . . . I mean yes, on these forums. But these are not the only places or even media that jazz fans, and popular music fans of the previous decades, which may be even more relevant, use.

Though not necessarily cheaper for packages, I agree, I use the Post Office whenever possible.

I love Chopin. The Nocturnes are favorites. I'm not a classical musician, but if I were I know I'd work on learning his pieces.

From the Los Angeles Times: The new and improved Beatles CDs sold 235,000 copies during their first two days in stores, and total first-week sales of the individual CDs and two box sets of the group's recordings were projected to be 500,000 to 600,000 copies, possibly higher. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/...0,5270664.story

I know, I was just having a little fun! FWIW, on my calculator here at work, 230/13 = 17.6923076923, which rounds DOWN to 17.69. Okay, but what retailer is going to round down a price? Get REAL!

I can do both. John, yeah, I had that originally (I think you should round it up to 17.70) going from memory of 13 discs, then I saw on a post somewhere 12 discs, so changed it. Hans, thanks, I tend to mistype that word though I know how to spell it. Had three years of Latin in boarding school.

Yes, there are going to be more Mono boxes. Amazon is taking orders and they'll be shipped in two or three weeks apparently. That will likely mean around that time frame there will be more in the shops, etc. They're repressings of the same box set.
-
Something like that. No interest in Sinatra. It would be $119 plus shipping. 7 cd Mosaic sets are usually that price. I don't know if there are 1000 people in the world who would pay that for a 7 cd set of Bing, especially with just a trio backing him on all 7 discs, in good times or bad. Well, time will tell if you're mistaken or not.
-
I'm definitely going to skip the Sinatra box.
-
If you order the Mono box from amazon and take the free shipping option, that costs you 230. If you divide that by 12 each cd costs you 19.09. For excellent quality lp facimile Japanese cds, that's not a bad price.

Many more happy happy ones!

It's rumored that with 25,000 posts your car gets a new transmission.

They're about 3 minutes long. I haven't watched any of them, they don't really interest me. . . .They apparently are little docs about the making of the albums.
-
I want the very best of health for you both! You both have all the right moves!
-
They will press 1000 and as many booklets as the contract allows. This is how the business works. Thanks. I agree it's an interesting gamble. I don't feel it's as risky as EC seems to.

I like Bing. I have quite a bit of the earliest Bing. I just am not sure I will want all that many discs with just a trio backing Bing; I like Bing with horns etc. I think it's a good move for Mosaic. It's not like they are going to print 10,000 sets and put them on shelves, they'll print 500, maybe less at a time and I think they'll have a big initial sale of these when introduced. (Just my estimation.) The Four Freshman set sold well. . . this may well too.
-
That's exactly what the US copies look like.
-
I'd definitely buy the smaller set of that, the five cd version with the shorter liner notes/smaller hit.
-
Got you going!

Many many more happy happy returns my friend!
-
I agree. . .seven cds with that trio, alone, would be way too much Bing with trio for me. Yowzah!

Whoa . . . well I just listed the persons on another set. I really hope Mosaic isn't also releasing that same material. . . but I don't really know what the material in the Mosaic will be other than what West Coast Ghost has mentioned. Which isn't quite the same time frame or setting. Bing Crosby was without doubt the most popular and influential media star of the first half of the 20th century. He was the best-selling singer until the rise of Elvis, the biggest movie star of the ’40s, and, as host of a long-running radio show, the most popular radio star of all time. For the first time ever, Shout! Factory is proud to present the very best of his radio performances, remastered from transcription discs recorded and broadcast from 1942 to 1954. Bing’s charming banter and relaxed live performances serve to remind us of his warmth and superior artistry, and guest stars such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Nat "King" Cole, Dinah Shore, The Mills Brothers, and The Andrews Sisters provide more than fitting accompaniment. DISC ONE: BING MEETS NAT KING COLE & THE ANDREWS SISTERS With Jud Conlon’s Rhythmaires and John Scott Trotter & His Orchestra DISC TWO: BING MEETS ELLA FITZGERALD & LOUIS ARMSTRONG (Their Complete Radio Duets – Part 1) Featuring: Dinah Shore, Jack Teagarden and Red Nichols - With Jud Conlon’s Rhythmaires and John Scott Trotter & His Orchestra DISC THREE: BING MEETS ELLA FITZGERALD & LOUIS ARMSTRONG (Their Complete Radio Duets – Part 2) Featuring: Red Nichols, Joe Venuti, Jack Teagarden, Les Paul, Ziggy Elman, Toni Arden and The Mills Brothers - With Jud Conlon’s Rhythmaires and John Scott Trotter & His Orchestra
