  1. I"m skipping this one, as much as I like Tarantino (I also dislike him!)
  2. Watching Defying Gravity, then on to Mad Men.
  3. It's good though it's not always as indepth as I'd like and as up to date. Since Friday I've watched all of Season 8 of Smallville. The Blu-Ray has awesome picture and sound.
  4. Yes, no kidding.
  5. Turns out that there are two volumes in print of a "Do Androids Believe in Electric Sheep" graphic novel. And. . . a movie is planned of "Flow My Tears the Policeman Said!"
  6. The Simulacra is a good one. They're almost all good in my estimation. If you want a sequel to Sheep. . . the closest thing is the Bladerunner sequels by Jeters. Not the same thing at all, much more brutal and noir and in their way absurd, sequels to the movie not the novel, and Jeter is no Dick. But they're fun to read. I got the Ubik screenplay when it was put out last year. . . but I haven't read it yet. Need to correct that soon.
  7. Hi Garth, this has been a topic of discussion for about a month on this thread: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=39290
  8. Can you imagine these as Mosaic sets? I almost can.
  9. Those are good sessions. I liked them in the past, but I liked them more when I revistied them in the past. I think one still needs to be released on cd (separately, outside of Lonehill). Donald Byrd was often pretty "on" in the fifties.
  10. Evan's discs are on the way.
  11. Many many happy happy returns!
  12. When I've had an HDCD player in my system, it didn't seem to make that big a difference for the recordings I had. (Mainly Grateful Dead!) I think the record companies are loathe to release anything popular or hot on SACD. I think they think it will confuse buyers and ultimately hurt sales. Very few of us care about SACD, which is a shame, but a reality that the labels will pay attention to.
  13. The review that WorldB3 posted goes into a lot of detail about the mono cds: http://www.tonepublications.com/music/beat...tereo-and-mono/ I ended up ordering a few individual titles. I'd go for the mono box only if it were half the price. Not that big a Beatles fan.
  14. PM'd you back Evan. Thanks!
  15. Updated. If no one goes for the K2 Impulse Coltranes soon, I'm going to put them back in the Coltrane shelves!
  16. Everything except the "Ballad of John and Yoko" / "Old Brown Shoe" single, which I believe is not included on the mono Past Masters discs. Collecting Beatles ain't easy, you know how hard it can be, the way things are goin', they're gonna bankrupt me. I think we can safely say that John was right: They ARE more popular than Jesus! I don't think so. Not 'round these here parts.
  17. I agree with Hans that just hitting the mono button doesn't cure most "rechanneled for stereo" recordings. BUT in many cases it's better than listening to the fake sound over two channels. (To my ears. Man I remember when I did that often.)
  18. None of my nonjazzer musichead friends have any idea who Blakey . . .or Roach . . . is.
  19. Hmmmmm. . . haven't heard that one. I'll look forward to the "Verve Original." (Yeah, right.)
  20. It's darned fine.
  21. I've been making smoothies in the morning lately. This morning's had frozen strawberries (fresh strawberries I froze), blueberries, yogurt, unsweetened soy milk, and honey.
  22. Thanks for the correction Mike. I discovered it's out of stock today, but I expect it will be in stock in a few days.
  23. That's available now (not in a week) from www.worldsrecords.com (and cheaper too).
  24. If you haven't seen it, the original movie(with Ann Parillaud) is very good. Yes I've seen that, and the US remake, and I didn't realize till watching the TV series how much of this was an inspiration and framework for Alias (which I like). Besson. . . when he's good he's VERY good.
