Likewise I enjoy the Wein, I had a sratchy lp version and love that there's a cd. Pee Wee! I can never have enough Russell. I like the 'Spoon as well. I agree that the vinyl and the Contemporary lines seem risky if not foolish to me. . . but I think they cater to a market that is not well as well represented online as offline, possibly. I wish Mosaic well. It's possible that if they weather the storm they may become a cd outpost in a download world. (?)

That's strange......it's definitely on the mono cd. You were right --- listening to this was a very different experience for me in mono. I'd even say better in a lot of ways. I know it's pretty pricey, but I'm really enjoying this boxed set. Yeah, the mono cd is a UK LP replica. It's not on my mono US LP.

I need to find that one I guess. I just have the DSD before that . . . which sounds great. Flurin, you're right, I was thinking of the Fillmore, In Concert, Live/Evil digipaks. . . I replaced all those with SACDs or DSD Japanese copies and forgot that Agharta and Pangaea were in jewel cases. Anyway it seems to me this is the jewel case remasterings. The proof is in the pudding so we have a few months to see.

I've heard Polks. They make some fine speakers. I've gotten so used to the "Radial" design speakers I've used this century that I don't really settle into the sound of other dsigns.

I'm listening to my first reissue: Sgt. Pepper's, stereo digipak. I've never had a Beatles cd, and my Sgt. Pepper's is a mono lp bought when originally released. This stereo mix IS significantly different in some portions and the stereo sound of this music I know so well in mono is a bit disconcerting, in a very fun way. They did a great job with this one, at least. Does not seem compressed, certainly not in the way we're used to, and very warm and clear.

You'd think an arm & a leg......but surprisingly not. $300 or so. A helluva deal actually for someone that doesn't have most of this stuff in triplicate like most of us. For that amount of CDs, that's a good price. I need to dig this out and listen to it again soon. I do like it. I like all Ayler and they all seem to progress with a pattern and seem to fit in with his life and the path he was following. I'd love to have an Impulse cd.
