  1. Yes, we've talked about this one. There seems to be a split of opinion on this . . . . Put me down on the Wow side. I've always liked the lp, and this expansion is just more goodness beefing it up into one great cd. I can understand why others don't like it though, it's very different from the Bobby on Blue Note of the mid-sixites or so.
  2. That's a very good price. You won't regret it.
  3. It's good. Surprisingly so. May be expensive though.
  4. Correct, that's where I first saw the upcoming release and lifted the track listing (though I did correct one spelling error, or I assume it was a transposed pair of letters).
  5. Yeah, the only Fairy Land I knew of was Wallington as well. . . . Hmmm. . . well, thanks.
  6. There is an October release of a Monk cd called "Lost Recordings" ahead. . . . CD Universe shows that it has the following tracks among others. . . Fairy Land; Woody 'N You; Just One Of These Things; Day In Paris Any ideas what this might be? (My guess is its repackaged/retitled something from Europe . . . . )
  7. Sheik of Araby, Oscar Peterson Trio, Mosaic set. Just a great swinging track.
  8. Wow. Nicely played Sal and Bill.
  9. Manymany many more happy ones!
  10. Curried lentils and cous cous.
  11. Many many more happy happy ones Dan!
  12. I wouldn't want to be without the Blue Note, but honestly I like all the decades and I wouldn't want to be without the unofficial material I've found. . . .
  13. Wow. Thanks.
  14. Many many more happy happy ones VibeS!
  15. Chris, thanks for the concern. I was in Houston this time last year but since I lost Helen in October last year and no longer need to be there at M. D. Anderson Cancer Research Center I have not returned to Houston and have been here in Austin, retired since May and getting better all the time. As Mike mentions there is little expected here in Austin than some heavy rain. I hope Garth and possibly a few other posters from Houston are well.
  16. I can definitely understand that.
  17. Some of my darkest memories too. . . though I did meet my (late) wife there, though we became a couple sixteen years later! So fortuitous in an important way too. Also got to talk to Allen Ginsburg and William Burroughs there one afternoon as well. . . which has never happened since.
  18. I've a few of those Tatum volumes and they're excellent! I'm looking forward to this.
  19. Tranemonk. . . . Based on what I can assess of your musical tastes. . . I don't think you'll like it. Just a sort of educated guess on my part. I'm not sure I am going to like all of it, but I'll preorder it. . . I want to hear more Braxton, I've only heard about 10 percent of this material, and a lot of more current material (and like it).
  20. Larry, you spent time in U of C dorm rooms too? You have my sincere condolences.

PS: Flurin, Audiophile Records recently released a cd compiling many of the Lee Wiley performances from the "Town Hall" concerts: http://www.jazzology.com/item_detail.php?id=ACD-39 I may have to get this as it also includes a 14 minute interview with Ms Wiley from 1971.

Flurin, the most recent Condon Classics is out and has material entirely contained in the Mosaic Condon All Stars set. Well worth getting. . . great sound and playing.
