  1. That's my outlook as well. I sold my free time just to be able to live for many, many years. And I'm very glad I'm out of that.
  2. Same here. And I'm very glad that at 58 I'm already pensioned. But I have witnessed other people who think the other way round. Like "what are you without a profession"? And how do you spend your friggin time? That's a question I've had to encounter very often.
  3. Seeing it in yesterday's Jazz Gazette as one of the top 60s albums made me see how long I hadn't played it. And I corrected. Now.
  4. It's bossa, on an album produced by Roberto Menescal in 1964. Menescal was known for his own bands. Very great title.
  5. I think she also made an American album. But I like this one much more. She is, of course, Wanda de Sah. Or Sa, as some prefer it.
  6. Thanks, Sidewinder.
  7. I wish I could see that.
  8. Which contains the wonderful Tomorrow never knows. Perhaps my favorite Beatles track. And the whole record is ace. I have a friend (a jazz bassist) who has a T-shirt with that image on it. Wish I had it too.
  9. That's strange. When I saw it it was completely in English. Undertitled, of course. But jpc is a German web. And they surely have the German version. And the movie was a German production, so there HAS to be a German version. But maybe there is an English one as well.
  10. And specifically I'm so green. Yeah, I remember those games too.
  11. Lots of Mezz Mezzrow and Sidney Bechet. And there are lots of spoken interludes by Mezzrow too. After all he was the cofounder.
  12. That is a must see movie. I saw it in a cinematheque, one of those places devoted to restoring, preserving and showing classics.
  13. I have it on a separate release, but I agree, it is top notch.
  14. A very nice piano trio of piano, guitar and bass. The kind I like.
  15. Oh, this box is so good. I only wish more of this material would be released.
  16. Precisely the other day I caught a chapter of it in some TV station. And I laughed my ass off. I once saw this as a play.
  17. Very good
  18. I don't know how I oversaw All night session, but it maybe my preferred Hawes, with Jim Hall
  19. I don't have much Hawes, but this is easily what I like most. In trio or quartet, with only on the first session with Lawrence Marable.
  20. This was so good. Am with Planet Claire now... And what a cassette compilation of them might have looked like. I don't remember that Memorex tapes. Much more the TDK, with which I used to make a lot of mixtapes.
  21. Oh, I didn't know that. But that album is an absolute beauty.
  22. Yes, I also like it very much. Maybe the most. I first saw it in the 80s, when it came out. And one or two years ago I saw it again, as I pointed out, and liked it perhaps even more than the first time around. The triple headlining cast is hilarious, to say the least. And perhaps there are more of his movies I've seen and enjoyed. This was just a short sample.
