  1. On the Concord website, the Monterey albums have this comment: "All proceeds from this recording go to Monterey Jazz Festival-supported jazz education programs.". It's possible that it's something that might keep them off of eMusic. Joni on eMusic makes sense as her new one is going to be on the same Starbucks/Hear/Concord label as McCartney's latest.

  4. ... or eMusic - anytime - for about $2.
  5. A bunch of great stuff just showed up today on the Gambit label. Best to 'browse' that label and find the new releases to get the full scope. Just a few include KD w/Jackie Mac (the Matador/Inta Somethin' 2-fer that was once on BN), Stitt w/Barry Harris, Mulligan Concert Jazz Band, Ella, Carmen McRae, Johnny Hartman, Elmo Hope, ... and on and on. Check it out.

  8. I can't play Mark Murphy for anyone. I don't know why, but he seems to rub people the wrong way.

  10. There has been a lot of discussion on a lot of message boards about this. I would tend to think that it's a "true" rumor. I saw LZ on their first tour - Jethro Tull was the opening band. Never saw them again. I disliked them, for the most part, ever since, but just a few years ago I had a revelation and couldn't get enough. Picked up Zoso, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, How the West Was Won & BBC Sessions - albums I never had before. Great stuff!
  11. But that doesn't explain why so many of these albums are available on eMusic. You would think that he would detest MP3s even more.

    Moby Grape

I wonder why it is hard to imagine the band ever playing together again, if it went well. Especially if there could be some money in it. I think you could infer that it DIDN'T go well. "Well enough" is not exactly a rave review. I have a friend who was there and said as much.

Forever Changes: Live This album is a pretty good chronicle of his 2001 live performance of the original. Recommended.
  15. Yep............P-Shopped. Oh, well ... good for a few laughs, anyway.

  19. Is this real......or is it PhotoShopped?

    Shazam!

I always thought this was a great album. While not 'technically' The Move, it's still Wood, Lynne & Bevan. It also bears little resemblance to the later, more commercial (post-Wood) version of the band.
  21. I wonder how he's going to sound later this year when (if) Zep plays that rumoured concert in London.

    Moby Grape

"The brief reunion of Moby Grape - with the late Skip Spence's son, Omar, sitting in for his dad - went off well enough, but it's hard to imagine that band ever playing together again." Complete "Summer of Love" concert review HERE

  24. If you can, get a copy of Viktor's "Far From Enough" album and listen to "Big Log" (w/Allison on vocals) to get some idea of what this Plant/Krauss album might sound like. Also on the album: Jerry Douglas, Bill Frisell (!), Steve Jordan.
