I was at that show, actually. Unfortunately, I didn't appreciate who I was seeing at the time and don't remember much about it. It was part of a great series of free shows in Riverside Park, NYC. Other Clifford stuff to look out for would be anything he recorded with the "Magic Triangle" - that would be Cedar Walton, Sam Jones & Billy Higgins. I'm pretty sure this was discussed in the other thread, too.

The note on their Joe Hen box listing does say "Temporarily Out Of Stock", so there's still hope.

As Free says, the liners specifically give the date as 6/25/56 - the day before he died. The drummer on the date is even quoted discussing the session and the blow upon hearing the news the next day.

BTW, what's the deal with Garnett Brown's "Bachafillin" which has a nearly identical opening? I have versions of this by the Jones/Lewis Orchestra and also Booker Ervin.

I've got a Flying Dutchman 2-LP Nelson collection called "A Dream Deferred". It has a live version from Montreux in 1971. The 25 piece ensemble includes: Nelson (alto), Pretty Purdie (dr), Stanely Cowell (p), Ch Tolliver (t) and many other lesser-knowns. I think the Mark Murphy's interpretation is a great version, as well.
