  1. He's very good. I've seen him a number of times with the SFJAZZ Collective, including this past Sunday.
  2. That must have been a special show to see in person!
  3. I never listened to any of these albums until recently. I knew about Barbieri from Porcupine Tree, and have had a couple David Sylvian albums for a long time. Karn was certainly a revelation. A shame he's not with us anymore.
  4. Definitely! Both the original album and the live "In Europe" are excellent! Jack with Ravi and Matt Garrison at Big Ears 2019. I was lucky to see this trio a few times. Unfortunately, because of where I was sitting and Jack's ride cymbals, you can't see his face here
  5. Myra is always worth seeing Sunday: SFJAZZ Collective "Music of Wayne Shorter's 'Native Dancer'" Current lineup: Chris Potter, tenor saxophone David Sánchez, tenor saxophone Mike Rodriguez, trumpet Warren Wolf, vibraphone Edward Simon, piano Matt Brewer, bass Kendrick Scott, drums
  6. For sure
  7. OK - thanks! There are some videos on YouTube, too.
  8. Nice to have these 4 albums together in one set. Not the original artwork, obviously.
  9. Richard Barbieri/Steve Jansen - Very atmospheric, but with more energy than it seems after multiple listenings. This live album also includes Mick Karn on bass, and Steven Wilson on guitar
  10. Very sad, for sure. And one of my favorites. He performed in so many different settings and formats, he was hard to categorize. Which made him that much more special.
  11. Good reason! I like having his Muse stuff all together, too.
  12. I would guess that some of the medical problems being mentioned (especially heart rate and blood pressure) might be related to SMOKING weed. I've never heard any reports along these lines about edibles, particularly if they're low dose. And if you buy them in a reputable store - not from a rando dealer.
  13. For those of you who love Woody's Berliner Jazztage album, I hope you grabbed Mosaic's "Woody Shaw: The Complete Muse Sessions" box before it sold out.
  14. I never quite "got" them, but they're always highly regarded. I've never seen them either, but they're coming to SF in February, so I bought a ticket. Got to see the Jeff Parker Expansion Trio about a month ago and he was stronger than I've ever seen him. Looking forward to seeing Tortoise!
  15. It WAS! They had a couple of substitutions: Donald Harrison had a gig with Ron Carter, so Craig Handy filled in. Eddie Henderson was under the weather and Mike Rodriguez sat in for him.
  16. Did NOT know that. But dubbing is rarely good😎
  17. Yeah! These two! BTW, Secret Agent was also known as "Danger Man" in the UK.
  18. Have a good one, David! This from last Friday at SFJAZZ
  19. David - you are correct! Just tried to shake things up a bit. 😎
  20. The Cookers played that at SFJAZZ last night
  21. Interesting band. Don't know that much about them, but they played here in SF recently. Unfortunately I didn't go. Excellent album.
