  1. Jacky Terrasson Trio last Sunday.
  2. Last Sunday (not today) after his show at SFJAZZ. A unique talent, for sure.
  3. Don't know. My CD set is 2 disks. Haven't read the extensive Ashley Kahn liners, though. Might be explained there?
  4. Thanks for the heads up. My very first jazz concert (in 1971) was Freddie Hubbard w/Junior Cook, George Cables, Mike Moore, Lenny White.
  5. GREAT to know! Although I hate to admit that I'm that OLD! I don't feel it. 😎
  6. Yeeeeeeeeahhh ... I passed on that at the original price (don't remember the $$) 🤑
  7. The original Woodstock release was a 3LP set. There was a Woodstock 2 (additional performances), that was 2 LPs.
  8. All 4 Let's Active albums, which have been OOP for a long time, have been remastered and are currently being re-released by the band, only on streaming platforms (at least for now).
  9. I remember picking up that box (maybe 20 years ago?) when it was being remaindered, and his Milestone years were less respected. I think it was going for less than $20.
  10. Some things I take into consideration: A lot of these artists are there nearly every year, so I might lower their priority. But it doesn't make missing them any less painful [Ches Smith, Mary Halvorson, Tyshawn Sorey, Zorn, Ribot, Caroline Shaw, James Brandon Lewis] And of course scheduling logistics can make a difference (Bijou to the Mill & Mine is a long trek)
  11. "The new album is a widescreen exploration of hope, memory, and resilience that features contributions from Aimee Mann ('Til Tuesday), Mike Mills (R.E.M.), Andy Partridge (XTC), Jason Falkner (Jellyfish), Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Pat Sansone (Wilco), Mitch Easter (Let's Active), Chris Stamey (The dB's) and more."
  12. Will never forget seeing his cameo appearance with Bruce at SXSW 2012
  13. Agreed! Definitely deserves multiple listening sessions.
  14. I saw him 8 months after "Amsterdam" at the Keystone Korner w/Hilton Ruiz, Eddie Moore, Herbie Lewis. And again in '81 with the same group except for Billy Higgins on drums. Unfortunately my memory of those shows is pretty vague
  15. Agree 100% - GREAT album!
  16. The Threadgill and Sorey trios are outstanding!
  17. Congrats to Felser! There's always next year ... 😎
  18. I only heard the "The The" collaboration fairly recently. Some good stuff there! I've always liked his approach to guitar playing and phrasing. A fairly unique sound.
