    Delmark

There's at least a couple of Fred Anderson albums worth checking out. "Back At The Velvet Lounge" "On The Run: Live At The Velvet Lounge"
  2. FWIW, Jimi's last live performance is available from Dagger Records. THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE: LIVE AT THE ISLE OF FEHMARN "Live At The Isle Of Fehmarn" features The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s final live performance on September 6, 1970 during the Love & Peace Festival held on the Isle Of Fehmarn in Germany.
  3. Oh, yeahhhhhhh ....
  4. Thanks, Lon. DL'd yesterday: Joe Hen - Power To The People [Keepnews Collection] [ Remastered ] Ornette - Sound Grammar
  5. Good choice, SS1!
  6. Interesting. My link was for www.jazzcornertalk.com. It seems to work fine without the "www", though.
  7. JC Down? I get redirected to some weird search page.
  8. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! Happy B-DAY!
  9. Thanks for the heads-up on that one. I never would have noticed them. Being on "Thirsty Ear", that album is on eMusic, so I immediately put it in my Save For Later file.
  10. What's the deal with those Jazz Band recordings? Are they all radio transcriptions? What's the source? I briefly listened to clips of a Buddy Rich set supposedly recorded in the 80's, but sounded more like the 40's or 50's.
  11. Here's a couple by the New York Jazz Quartet. ... and one from Maynard.

    Junior Cook

He did two of his own. I just found a copy of a leader sesson on Catalyst - quartet IIRC - about the same time as the Muse sessions. Hey Mosaic, how about the complete Junior Cook, Bill Hardman and Mickey Tucker Muse sessions? Needless to say, he's all over the Blue Mitchell Mosaic box. It's OOP, but usually sells for reasonable prices on ebay. Funny, I was listening to "Junior's Cookin' " today. My first ever jazz concert was Freddie Hubbard in the early 70's and he was on tenor at the time.
  13. He's scheduled to play with Joe Lovano's Nonet at Dizzy's in NYC next month, too. Still scheduled (so far): Fri-Sun, May 18-20 Joe Lovano Nonet with Hank Jones Featuring Joe Lovano, tenor saxophone; Hank Jones, piano; Dennis Irwin, bass; Lewis Nash, drums.
  14. Basically..........free shipping.
  15. wanted to post a link to www.azarlawrence.com but it's not working anymore (it did though a few weeks ago) What happened to Azar? I must have missed that.
  16. I wonder why they haven't done this with Abraxas?
  17. Not only awful, but highly incorrect as others have already pointed out. Not to mention the daily slaughter taking place in Iraq and only slightly less frequently in Afghanistan.
  18. I think so. I had heard a few cuts from the "Last Days of the Fillmore" box set before I picked this up, so I had an idea what was coming. I think it's worth getting the entire show because it's Santana (version 1.1) at their creative peak. I would also recommend getting the 2CD version of the S/T first album. You get the entire Woodstock performance.
  19. OK, Ag. I didn't realize they had put that set on the Clearance list - and for that cheap! So.............nevermind. +++ Edit: BTW, that code is for 65% off with no shipping/handling charges. Good until 4/18.
  20. The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions 5 CD Set - $9.95 Code: A7P2
