  1. Both "Focus" (w/Stewart) and "Blythe Byte" (w/o Stewart, w/bass) are available on eMusic.
  2. "Case in point", cont. Capt. Beefheart boots (?).
  3. just reissued on mosaic. Full set, "Select" or "Single"?
  4. That is from 2000, but it cracked me up then, too.
  5. Interesting, Rooster. I happen to think that "The Kicker" and "Tetragon" are 2 of Joe's better post-BN albums. Go figure ...
  6. Very shocking. I've been a fan of his since his Vietnam reporting.
  7. That is good. No mention here of the death of Brant Parker - Hart's partner in the creation of "Wizard of Id". He died 8 days after Hart. Amazing.
  8. Winwood, Wood and Mason are all on Electric Ladyland on various tunes.

    Delmark

There's at least a couple of Fred Anderson albums worth checking out. "Back At The Velvet Lounge" "On The Run: Live At The Velvet Lounge"
  10. FWIW, Jimi's last live performance is available from Dagger Records. THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE: LIVE AT THE ISLE OF FEHMARN "Live At The Isle Of Fehmarn" features The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s final live performance on September 6, 1970 during the Love & Peace Festival held on the Isle Of Fehmarn in Germany.
  11. Oh, yeahhhhhhh ....
  12. Thanks, Lon. DL'd yesterday: Joe Hen - Power To The People [Keepnews Collection] [ Remastered ] Ornette - Sound Grammar
  13. Good choice, SS1!
  14. Interesting. My link was for www.jazzcornertalk.com. It seems to work fine without the "www", though.
  15. JC Down? I get redirected to some weird search page.
  16. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! Happy B-DAY!
  17. Thanks for the heads-up on that one. I never would have noticed them. Being on "Thirsty Ear", that album is on eMusic, so I immediately put it in my Save For Later file.
  18. What's the deal with those Jazz Band recordings? Are they all radio transcriptions? What's the source? I briefly listened to clips of a Buddy Rich set supposedly recorded in the 80's, but sounded more like the 40's or 50's.
  19. Here's a couple by the New York Jazz Quartet. ... and one from Maynard.

    Junior Cook

He did two of his own. I just found a copy of a leader sesson on Catalyst - quartet IIRC - about the same time as the Muse sessions. Hey Mosaic, how about the complete Junior Cook, Bill Hardman and Mickey Tucker Muse sessions? Needless to say, he's all over the Blue Mitchell Mosaic box. It's OOP, but usually sells for reasonable prices on ebay. Funny, I was listening to "Junior's Cookin' " today. My first ever jazz concert was Freddie Hubbard in the early 70's and he was on tenor at the time.
