No, it can't! According to AMG the track is actually 9:06. Thought so. I hope the file size doesn't reflect 96 minutes worth of music.

A couple more worth looking into. Just added: Dave Burrell/Billy Martin - "Consequences". Includes "Kuliana" a 96 minute track! (can that be right?) Recently downloaded: Larry Coryell - "Tricycles" w/Mark Egan & Paul Wertico. one of the more aggressive Coryell albums I've heard in a long time.

Eric Dolphy "Candid Dolphy" looks pretty interesting. 6 of the 8 tunes are previously unreleased alternate takes from sessions with Mingus, Booker Little and also Abbey Lincoln (according to AMG)

You remember correctly. One of my all-time favorite films. Definitely a great scene, too. "Stroll On" is on the S/T album, as well. Don't forget that the rest of the music is by Herbie Hancock.......not too shabby!

I pretty much agree with everything Guy said here. My girlfriend went on a Moody Blues jag in the last year or so, even to the point of getting tickets to a recent concert. It wasn't a BAD show, but you could tell that they've been doing the same songs for a LONG time. Their audience seemed to be a pretty hard-core bunch, though.

"Sax Pax For A Sax" is a nice album. Worth it for "Bird's Lament" alone!

... , especially the second side with 'Aquarius' and 'More Today Than Yesterday'. He had an uncanny way of making tunes that were otherwise hokey/commersh sound really good. These 2 in particular are definitely worth the "price of admission".

Just picked up Nels Cline's "New Monastery - A View Into the Music of Andrew Hill" w/Bobby Bradford (among others). An interesting take, so far ...

Oh, yeahhhh.......all you B3 fans out there. This is the one to get, even if you only DL the 20+ minute jam. Great Hammond and a dynamic drum solo, as well. I've been listening to the same old scratchy LP for over 30 years now. Great to have this.......finally.

Yes he was. But George still had some chops back then. He wasn't that far removed from playing with FZ and had put out a series of mostly interesting albums for MPS/BASF. He had probably just signed with Epic at this point, which is why he's in these sessions. Players: Dexter, Slide Hampton, Woody Shaw, Billy Brooks, Gordon Johnson, George Duke

I have Vol. 1 (on vinyl). Haven't listened to it in many years. I remember that Dexter's "Fried Bananas" was one of the highlights of the set.

I had my own brush with a serious medical condition last year. If I hadn't gone in for an exam, it would have put me on a swift path to no-where's-ville. I won't go into the details, but fortunately I got it taken care of relatively early and things are OK now. Moral of the story: If you think you have a problem, get it taken care of - SOONER rather than LATER.
