  1. The operative word being "loaded".
  2. Did a little trading at Amoeba today.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't those two tunes recorded in two pieces each? There's a countoff at the beginning of each side, iirc. I don't think so, but I haven't listened to them in a long time. I'll have to check them out soon.
  4. I have a couple of them: - Dannie Richmond "Jazz A Confronto 25" (I believe this was a series) w/Don Pullen, George Adams, Jack Walrath, Dave Friesen, Irio De Paula, Afonso Vieira. 7/28/75. Obviously a Mingus spin-off. - Max Roach "The Loadstar" w/Cecil Bridgewater, Billy Harper, Reggie Workman. 7/27/77. 2 LPs, 2 tunes. This is BEGGING for CD release, if for no other reason than to get these cuts into one piece each.
  5. Conn, I'll give ya' $500 for all of those ... ... oh, nevermind.
  6. I've searched for this but can't find it. Has it been removed or is just not available to us poor relations in the UK? Huh.........yeah, seems to be gone. Bummer. Well, you can still get "Compliments Of The Mysterious Phantom". Not too shabby, either.
  7. I've got the vinyl as part of that BN 2-fer (w/"Hub Cap") that came out in 1976.
  8. "Here To Stay" has to be one of the most anticipated RVGs in a long time (well, next to "Basra", "Wahoo", etc ...).
  9. Off the top of my head I would certainly add Mingus "Changes One & Two"
  10. I'm sure a few beers will clear that right up, Conn.
  11. Good to know, Free. ... and BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
  12. I saw it a couple of weeks ago. Enjoyed it. It's not for everyone and not enough (not any) explosions and raygun battles for many sci-fi fans. But fun to watch and the performances are entertaining.
  13. Supposedly, these last 2 dates (Yoshi's & Kuumba in Santa Cruz) were being recorded for Blue Note.
  14. I've only used it a couple of times, but never had a problem. OTOH, I never tried to upload 175MB at once, either.
  15. Me neither. On another board someone reviewed Gerald & Kenny in Santa Cruz. That sounded like a killer show. It was basically a Gerald Wilson show and KB came out for the last 4 tunes.
  16. See Here
  17. I agree, it was a great show and a great evening all around. I would differ on Hubert Laws as I've never been a big fan and he didn't do much to change my mind last night. But Joey D was a lot of fun and I would have liked to hear more of him. He'll be around again. Gerald was an amazing focus of activity on stage. I was blown away that he opened with my newly favorite tune, "Sax Chase", from the "In My Time" album. Definitely would like to see a full set by him and his band. If he has this much energy at 87, he's got a long way to go before he slows down. There was a lot of good feeling around the club last night and a wonderful time was had by all.
  18. EXCELLENT!
  19. Probably about a MILLION of them, but I wouldn't know where to tell you to start. What's good about discussing modern rock here is that it is with people who also like jazz, so you already have a sense of where the members are coming from.
  20. You kiddin' me? I wouldn't miss THIS show for anything! I'll be sitting at one of the first tables on the left side, right behind the booths.
  21. Who would have imagined you hadn't heard these two wonderful dates before? Well, I haven't heard a bunch of essential stuff as well, I'm sure. Good point, Conn. I was wondering the same thing. Jim........you gotta start doing some Jazz Messengers acquiring.
  22. That's OK Buzzzz, I'll just rip myself copies of the discs and then put the set up on ebay. CDRs, baby! Hey........good thinkin'! You don't need that booklet anywayzzzzz.
  23. FWIW, this album is available on eMusic.
  24. Hey, Noj.......MAJOR mistake. This set sux! You just blew a hundred (and whatever) dollars - never to be seen again. You might as well use those new disks for beer coasters. (btw................it ROCKS!)
  25. Saw "Inconvenient Truth" today. I think global warming is already HERE in a bigger way than we realize.
