I think these are available and would be my favorites from the 70's. Really strong jazz/fusion/funk........in a GOOD way, though. Southern Comfort Chain Reaction These were Larry Carlton's best years, too.
  3. Jenny Craig Johnny Clegg William Wegman
  4. Rudy Vallee Dick Dale Dale Evans
  5. A couple of relatively new ones to definitely check out: Buddy Rich - "Live-WHAM!" Stan Getz - "My Foolish Heart-Live At Left Bank"
  6. Shawn Colvin Harold Melvin Mike Melvoin
  7. Hey, maren. That's pretty weird that we both used Julie Tibbets and Julie Driscoll.

  13. Nahhhhhhhh.........YOUR'S was good (again!) John Roseboro Joe Scarborough Glenn Yarborough
  14. Just giving this another spin. Sounds more like Sly & the Family Stone than anything else, to me (so far).
  15. Good ONES! Nothing could be finer ... Go Niners! Charlie Steiner [yeah........it's a stretch]
  16. Halsey Minor Minor White John Byner
  17. Good to know. That album and also "In Rock" would be on my 'guilty pleasures' list.
  18. Lloyd Bridges Jeff Bridges Bridget Fonda
  19. Geeeeeeeez. I was just looking at your selection and trying to figure out the Chris Botti/Sam Rivers connection in your listening habits. Thanks for the clarification.
  20. Couldn't have said it better, myself.
  21. Nine Inch Nails - "With Teeth" The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend
  22. "Get Happy" is one of my favorite Elvis albums. Listen to clips to get an idea of what's there. The songs are mostly very short, so these should be very representative. It's a primer in short-song writing style.
  23. Something I notice missing: names of the bandmembers.
  24. eMusic just added "Live-WHAM!" and I downloaded it. What a smokin' set! This at the end of the AMG review pretty much sums it up: The music itself — from Horace Silver's "Cape Verdean Blues" to Bill Reddie's "Channel One Suite" — is played one way: without a flaw, full of piss and vinegar, and physical — in your face. This is big-band music that will remain contemporary no matter when it is heard because Rich was timeless in his approach to music and life. This set, even with its sonic limitations, is as good as any Rich recording on the market, and better than any of the live ones.
