I think Fez is closed, that's why they moved to Joe's Pub. I saw them about a year ago, too (at Fez). Definitely a lot of fun.
  18. They just added a bunch of Evidence albums, including: Pharaoh Sanders (several - including "Rejoice") Richie Beirach John Hicks Sonny Stitt Kirk Lightsey Phil Woods Roy Haynes Joe Bonner Curtis Lundy Ralph Peterson George Coleman Check it OUT!
  19. I grew up in Santa Barbara. Get some Mexican food at La Super Rica. The Santa Barbara Independant is a pretty good reference for stuff to do there.
  20. I just noticed that on the Official Hendrix website they have several "bootleg" recordings of complete shows that you can stream for FREE. If you click on the "Multimedia" link at the top of the home page and then "Concert Recordings" you will see a list of shows from Madison Square Garden, The Forum, Chicago, Frankfurt and many others. The quality varies from fair to poor, but still a great opportunity to hear some previously unreleased stuff. Check it out.
  21. ... or Haight-Ashbury.
  22. FYI - Guernsey's finally posted the "realized" prices of the auction. You can download a PDF of an Excel file HERE. The only caveat is that the list is by Lot #, and not otherwise identified. So if you don't have the catalog, it won't be much help.
  23. Maybe the "album" IS an aberration. I hadn't thought of that. Still......I like to listen to music in the order that it was released. I usually don't care for "best of's" or collections (not that there's anything WRONG with them. ). FWIW, I just recently picked up the remastered version of Mayall's "Turning Point". I has been a favorite of mine since it came out. Now with the extra tracks.....even better.
