  1. Surprised I couldn't find any existing threads about this festival. Some interesting shows this year, not the least of which is: STRATA-EAST RISING - A Landmark concert w/ Charles Tolliver, Cecil McBee, Billy Hart, Billy Harper, Christian McBride, aja monet, Endea Owens, Steve Jordan, Keyon Harrold, Camille Thurman +more TBA. Seems like a can't-miss, once-in-a-lifetime chance to see all these great musicians together. I'll be there.
  2. Wow - I recently found a set of these stickers I collected when I was a kid. Don't know if they're valuable or not.
  3. If I remember correctly when I was at SB High School around 1970 she appeared in play there. The theater department head had somewhat of a reputation in the industry. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Tim Bottoms stayed on an extra year just to work with him.
  4. You figured RIGHT! 😎 Now playing ... (seeing them in a few weeks)
  5. Riverside and Ray Wylie ... Excellent!
  6. I guess I didn't win this year 🥺 I had the right number of points ... WRONG team There's always NEXT year, right?
  7. Haven't heard that in a long time, but I remember it was really good. Now playing ...
  8. I think the packaging reflects the emphasis on this being part of the "Bootleg Series". All of the previous sets have been in minimal cardboard 'boxes'. Just got mine today and it's actually the nicest series packaging to date
  9. Alright ... it's GO TIME! -> Bombers - 65 points (you still have my address, right? 😁🏈)
  10. Both Shakill's are worth having
  11. Agree about Dusk 👍
  12. Just when you think they're done adding new acts, THIS shows up!
  13. Radiohead spinoff. I'm not a big fan of theirs, but there are some interesting cuts on this album.
  14. That definitely looks interesting. I enjoyed his early years recordings.
  15. Saw the great Vijay Iyer, Tyshawn Sorey & Linda May Han Oh at SFJAZZ tonight
  16. Not the greatest band he ever put together, but his guitar playing in the London set is about as fiery as I've ever heard him. Also his last "rock" band before his style changed on Blow by Blow.
  17. Real Gone Music has a great sale on several Black Jazz titles
  18. An album that deserved wider recognition
  19. Guaranteed to be excellent!
