Is there a way to find out how many board members have Clem on their "Ignore" list? Heh...

Happy Birthday, Tractorman! Enjoy!
-
Hey, it busted thru on it's own!
-
A mono copy of Stan Getz's "Focus"...ah shit! It's skipping!!!
-
If I'm not mistaken a small white rectangle - or whatever it's called in English - appears in the icon in the first column on the "View New Posts" page when you've posted to a thread. I see that now...sweeeeet! Thanks Hans and Jim!

Thanks Jim!

Hi Jim, Thanks for the upgrade; it's working real fast!!! However, it appears that hitting Alt-S no longer works for posting replies...I'm pretty trained to do it that way...can that be restored? Please? Also, on the SH board (which I think may use this software; I'm probably wrong...) the icon in the first column (here it show topics as "regular" or "hot" topics) can also display an arrow indicating it's a thread that "you" have already made a reply to. I find that very helpful to find the discussions I'm already involved with and was hoping it might be possible to activate it here. Thanks for your consideration...and everything. (Ahh, shit...I just hit Alt-S again...don't work!!! )

Just finished: Jordan, Jenkins, & Timmons - OJC reissue of New Jazz date. Cuz of that other thread...
-
Yeah, those are the ones. The sound is fine (at least to me, but i'm easy to please) Thanks. I'm usually easy to please too.

Now spinnin': Roy Ayers - Virgo Vibes - Atlantic - Stereo - Made in Germany. A first-time listen to my first Roy Ayers Lp. Joe Henderson' presence made me get off the fence on this one. Not bad...

Hey Natural Soul, Are those Baby Face Lps the inexpensive ones that are around these days? Available online for around $8-10? How's the sound on those? I've been curious...

Have a wonderful birthday, Robert. :tup

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PARKERTOWN!
Parkertown replied to paul secor's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Wow guys...I had no idea... Thanks Paul, and everyone. I was on vacation during my birthday and then didn't go online much for a few days. When I began trying last week, the board was not operating correctly for me and I was never able to log in. (Couldn't even get the forgotten password function to work.) As such, I didn't even bother trying to read the board. But today, everything worked just fine! Very kind of you guys. My birthday was great, and my beautiful, loving wife even gave me a gift certificate for my favorite record store. So I was able to pick up some nice new and used vinyl. Thanks for making my day! -
Happy Birthday Kevin Bresnahan

Happy Birthday to Kevin... I hope it was great! -
Well, the little mom 'n pop shop (Twist & Shout) didn't let me down. They had all of 'em, of which I bought the Cox, Foster, and Mr. T. $16.99/each. So far, I've only listened to the first Kenny Cox session 1 and 1/2 times so far...(listening to the 2nd session now.) HOLY SHIT!!! Is this a lost Miles mid-60's Quintet album?!?! These tracks sound like they could've been on E.S.P. or Miles Smiles. I think I really like this. This one certainly exceeded expectations, for me. And this Leon Henderson guy is actually Joe Henderson's brother? I had no idea. And, on top of all this, the cd sounds freakin' fantastic. Not at all bright or harsh. Both horn players I think have a beautiful tone, especially Moore. Oooh, yeah...diggin' this 2nd session too. Very happy listener here.

Ooohhh....it was.... I'll have to find one... Thanks porcy. P.S. I can't decide if I like BN Bacchanal enough to shell out for the Classic pressing...dig that cover though...
-
The Borders store I tried last nite only had one copy of the Hill which I'm not getting as I've got the Mosaic, but the others? No copies of any of 'em, at any of the stores in Colorado!!! Geez... That's cool...I'll buy 'em at the mom 'n pop shop I like better... Serves me right for going in there...

I have the Classic vinyl reissue, never listen again after I bought it. I'll do it now: just to check if is "warm and "tubey" sounding." Tho I have a tube preamp so I presume most of my records sound "tubey". When did Classic press this? You're not thinking "Bossa Nova Bacchanal" are you? I'd love to have a Classic pressing of this...
-
I've got that on LP - what does "tubey sounding" mean. Should I get the RVG? MG Sounds analog-y...not digital. Tube electronics vs Solid-State electronics. If you've got the Lp, you've already got an RVG...heh...
-
It's not working for me...says invalid...
-
I'd say another reason the monos go for more $ is because they're never reissued...usually only the stereo albums are reissued. Pricier...cuz you can't get 'em anymore.
-
I have the JRVG of Bossa Nova Soul Samba and it's incredible sounding! Warm and "tubey" sounding.
-
Shawn, I think I can help you with the other record. I've got a promo copy with a VG+ cover. The vinyl looks VG+, but plays NM. I'm spinnin' it now... I think I could live without this... Let me know if you have something to trade, otherwise I'd probably just ask for what I paid for it: $7.99 + shipping. Send me a PM if interested... wait a sec...there is little noise on the opening of this second song...ah..."Afro Blue." ...a few pops...call it VG. I haven't cleaned this record, just the carbon fiber brush. I'm sure you'd be happy with it.

Great show at Red Rocks last night. Interesting horn arrangements using the 10 piece Icelandic Girl Brass Section. Bjork is striking...she was on last night. Fantastic performer. "Declare independence, don't let them do that to you"!
