As I understand it, it refers to some (all?) of the BN heavy vinyl reissues done in the 1990's that had the name "Wally" etched in the area of the end grooves.

I could be completely wrong about this. I like to listen more than check out what pressings are what.

Don't I know it...I'm paying $7.99 for LPs at the local Half Price that just a year or two ago would have been $4.99. At some point, a used CD from Amazon will be a better deal.

Nobody on the Hoffman forums knows if this was cut from digital files or not.

From what I was told the first or maybe the first & second batches of Connoisseur LPs were *probably* cut from a digital master. However, they switched to all analog somewhere along the way. I was never able to get the breakdown.

I like the sound from these Wally cut LPs.

FWIW, Wally is etched in deadwax going back for years. Wally cuts are the best sounding Bob Seger LPs too.
