jeffcrom Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) Morgana King - Winter of My Discontent (Ascot). Could this 1964 album be the first full recorded recital of Alec Wilder songs? I think maybe so. It's pretty good, although Ms. King's style occasionally veers toward the overwrought. There are a few songs I've never heard anywhere else, though. King is accompanied by a rhythm section (with a good guitarist), trombone, and a woodwind mutli-instrumentalist, none of whom are identified. clifford_thornton Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 There was a silkscreened promo issue that preceded this, but I don't think too many were pressed. Quote

Or to make them leave I used to own a mint copy of this over 15 years ago but got rid of it..my favorite album from version one is actually the folky OHR but I didn't even keep that one when I did a major krautrock purge years ago.  Did keep my mint German "yeti" on Liberty though..that's a monster no question! sidewinder Posted January 30, 2016 Report Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Excellent late vintage BN Quebec. Recommended. My comment was specific to the sonics. At the risk of being roasted on the 'other thread' by one particular windup merchant, the switch back to vinyl was like an extra dimension being added back to the music and much more involving.  I have just today also added a turntable isolation platform to the set up, so the difference now is even more marked.
