BLUE NOTE B 6503 K [1969] Still have that one and enjoy giving it the occasional spin. Bought in Liverpool as a cut out back in the late 1970s. The story I heard is that shipments of those were loaded into freighters in NYC as ballast for offloading up there. Quote

sidewinder Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) 'Bird Curtis Quintet' (Jazzaggression, mono). Finnish reissue of a very rare UK album from 1968, reputedly in better sound. The vinyl comes with a CD and download (the vinyl has the definite edge in sound quality). Along with the Amancio d'Silva, my reissue of the year so far !  Edited June 21, 2017 by sidewinder Quote

Listening to some online samples I like what I hear The Bird Curtis Quintet were the regular band at the Green Man in Blackheath, S.London  I saw them several times there in the late 60 or thereabouts. I can't recall them making a very big impression on me back then.  Edited June 22, 2017 by JohnS typo Quote
