That is my session. It is remixed and has a 9 minute bonus track on cd - and new notes by Ira,

Yes sir!  I knew that you produced that one!

Didn't know about the bonus track.  May need to plop for the CD then...

Ira, Jodie and Wilbur were close friends. Glad Dan is still around. Lots of memories.

One of my favourite Max Roach Albums. So great this live Performance with Clifford Jordan, Mal Waldron and Eddie Khan. I purchased this one in 1978, shortly after I had heard Max Roach live.

Both LPs from the same session with Joe Diorio (g), John Heard (b), Billy Higgins (d), and Kenneth Nash (perc).

Those are both excellent. I don't believe these have been reissued on CD.

Yep. Terrific music that's never had a digital release.  Pairing them up would make a great 2-fer CD.  But that'll almost certainly never happen.

The band assembled for those LPs is really exceptional.  I think Billy Higgins is the not-so-secret sauce.  But they all play fantastically well.  Also, I love the choice to NOT include a pianist on the date and use Diorio's guitar instead as the chordal instrument, à la Sonny Rollins & Jim Hall.

I've recently spun a new purchase of this into the PC but no chance to listen yet.

I think you'll like it.  It's a bit more "chilled" than some Patterson dates.  But it's very enjoyable.  :tup

Yes,  both under-rated, although Kenny Clarke and Derek Humble are missed in the  lineup.

Just arrived - Live from the UCL Union. Remember seeing  some folk gigs there, no jazz though.

Ron Carter - Foursight - Stockholm Live (In & Out Records). Beautiful-sounding records.

Yes, picked up a copy of that one too. Sounds superb - apart from some clicks on the run in on one side. Sadly, sold out now so can’t replace. Even so, wouldn’t want to be without it.

In addition to fine work by Ron as usual, I really like Renee Rosnes’ playing on this performance. The live atmosphere is also captured well.

In&Out tell me that they have an upcoming Ramon Valle Trio vinyl release with the same  treatment and signatures, which will be tempting.
