I was there not too long before opening. A bit over an hour wait in line but they took preorders by paper, worked well. Managed to get all of the ones I was after (including the two Bill Evans releases), noticed that the two copies that the store had of the Albert Ayler had already gone to people ahead of me. Taylor Swift sold out real quick. 

The Mingus is a real treat - superbly recorded and with a great club atmosphere. Good playing too.

Some folks were queued out there already late last night, apparently !

Mingus Three (Jubilee/Rhino). Fabulous reissue. Very fine sound (much better than prior versions I have heard). Quiet pressing. One LP of worthy unissued tracks. Only complaint is that both LPs are in a single sleeve.

I don't know I'm afraid. It's the only one I've heard. I'm listening to some LPs I've not listened to for a while with a view to a purge and this is in the pile.  Not sure which way I'll go on it. It has fans on this board, particularly one @JSngry

I should have added that it is worth a listen, definitely.

I went to a local store this afternoon that was doing RSD for the first time and was able to get the Evanses (surprisingly), the Art Pepper and the Pepper Adams. Quite pleased.

The Pepper Adams isn’t released in the RSD over here, sadly. Might have a shufty tomorrow to see if I can find the (Art) Pepper.

Not spun the Evanses yet but that Mingus set is a ringer.

The Pepper is coming out in stereo later this year if that’s any consolation.

Another spin for this. ‘Discipline 27B’ on side B rocks - I remember Sun Ra and co. playing this when I saw them in 1989. Introductory fanfare with Ra entering the auditorium with expansive gestures and June Tyson doing the honours with his cloak.

Another good one from Resonance. Well recorded and Evans’ Trio in fine form in the run up to the final period.

Sound is fine - maybe a bit distant perhaps in what must have been a large auditorium but more than acceptable, nice and crisp.
