kh1958 Posted April 23, 2022 Report Posted April 23, 2022 Mingus Three (Jubilee/Rhino). Fabulous reissue. Very fine sound (much better than prior versions I have heard). Quiet pressing. One LP of worthy unissued tracks. Only complaint is that both LPs are in a single sleeve. Quote

It's the only one I've heard. I'm listening to some LPs I've not listened to for a while with a view to a purge and this is in the pile.Ā Not sure which way I'll go on it. It has fans on this board, particularly one @JSngry I should have added that it is worth a listen, definitely.Ā Edited April 23, 2022 by mjazzg Quote

sidewinder Posted April 23, 2022 Report Posted April 23, 2022 The Pepper Adams isnāt released in the RSD over here, sadly. Might have a shufty tomorrow to see if I can find the (Art) Pepper. Not spun the Evanses yet but that Mingus set is a ringer. Quote

Well recorded and Evansā Trio in fine form in the run up to the final period. Sound is fine - maybe a bit distant perhaps in what must have been a large auditorium but more than acceptable, nice and crisp. Edited April 25, 2022 by sidewinder Quote
