Wow! What a surprise! I just got done spinning Sonny Stitt "Salt & Pepper" Impulse Original.

I found the reed Sonny used here in Denver, @ Clydes Pub...Way back in 19980.

Man was Sonny stinkin' drunk!! But, he played his ass off, and, as he was wont to do, cut some

youngbloods who were "ready" to jam w/ Stitt. I'll never forget it. BTW, He signed the reed!! :tup :tup

Of course, Gonsalves was on the date.

An autographed Sonny Stitt reed? Now that is a rare item.

Sun Ra--the Invisible Shield (Saturn) (purchased at 1995 concert at the Knitting Factory by the posthumous Sun Ra Arkestra).

I have the 2LP set on Chess. That hasn't got "Feel so bad". What it does have is

We're gonna make it

Blind man

Who's cheatin' who

Losing hand

Can't hold back the tears

What kind of love is this

Help me help you

Without my sweet baby

Woke up this morning

Believe in me

Drifting drifter

So mean to me

More and more

Grits ain't groceries

Just a litle bit

I can't quit you baby

If walls could talk

I play dirty

Baby I love you

Many rivers to cross

plus the Little Milton live at the Burnng Spear (previously unissued - if short - LP)

How much of that twofer have I already got?

Oh yes, that has The Ladybirds doing backup vocals. I seem to remember them from sixties pop shows - gorgeous girls, who wore hot pants years before they became fashionable, but...
