Inez Andrews & the Andrewettes - The need of Prayer - Songbird (Vogue France)

Rev Amos Waller & the Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church - Come to Jesus - Songbird (green label)

and from the same venue

Herb Pomeroy Orchestra - Life is a Many Spendored Gig (Roulette). I had been looking for this for awhile and finally found a copy in the dollar bin of a local record store. It's only half as good as Spirit Catcher.

The Star Lite Singers of Lexington, Mississippi: Footprint of Jesus (Hue). I got this one in Clarksdale about 17 years ago. Amazing music, with the late, great Lonnie Pitchford on guitar and bass.

Wow! Never heard of any of these, or even the label. When was it done?

I've written more about Pitchford here. If you don't won't to read the whole thing, skip to the last two paragraphs for what little I know about this record.

And there I was thinking this was sixties stuff :)

Freddie Hubbard - Classics - Fantasy

The right stuff when you want some hard hard bop - not often for me.

Grant Green - Iron City.

ah.. love this on vinyl.

Welcome back MG!

Thanks WB3. I had two versions of this on LP - Cobblestone and Muse. But on one the balance was skewed to one channel (Larry Young) and on the other skewed to the other channel (GG). The 32Jazz CD is OK for balance, though. Very strange.

This afternoon

Don Patterson - These are soulful days - Muse

George Freeman - Frantic diagnosis - Bamboo

Wynton Kelly - Full view - Milestone
