Later: A quick Google search revealed that Francisco Cavez's "Tamboo" from this album was released as a single and seems to have something of a reputation among "Exotica" collectors.

That's right up my alley!

NP: Sinatra - Only the Lonely - Capitol (UK mono rainbow).

The real mono recording, not a fold-down, as was sometimes the case in the UK with US albums.

Sounds so much better in mono, an upgrade from my previous copy.

I'm sure it sounds better than the poetry and jazz attempts over here. As Bev and I commented after hearing a Christopher Logue record, those upper-class English voices just didn't sound right with jazz!

Yeah, I understand. Rexroth comes across as a bit academic on this LP, but I'm a fan of his writing, so the jazz infusion makes me biased in my appreciation of the record. He even recites a nice piece to the tune of Ellington's "Things Ain't What They Used to Be." He was a moderately big jazz fan, and even wrote a nice piece about Ornette Coleman back in the day.
